Can you do PFtek on a larger scale?
    #14361294 - 04/27/11 02:03 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Like instead of doing just 1/2 pint jars could you do a large square shape cake in a glass dish or something? Then follow all the steps and accommodate for the difference in size?

I'd try a different tek but PFtek is so convenient and easy. Not to mention the other ones confuse me.

If theres already a thread on this direct me to it and delete this, thanks.

It can work. But a cube shape just isn't recommended. Rhizo structures would have a difficult time colonizing edges and corners that bacteria and mold would find ideal. Stay with a cylinder :smile:

This works great! No pics of that yet for me though, I have my first 3 pound blocks colonizing right now, fruiting in less than a week!!!

I have all different types of dishes I use to mix grain spawn with verm then birth as a cake.

Look at my avatar, cakes can kick ass for sure! Just make sure that if you're going big, use LC (30 ccs went into one of my spongie blocks) as it will allow you to use as much inoculate as needed. I would also recomend using any type of jar or container that allows you to shake right after inoculating with the LC.

If you shake VERY VERY well right after inoculation, You could see everything colonize within a week through a week and a half! I still give everything time to consolidate, as you want the myc to grow strong and have a firm hold before fruiting conditions.

So check out that link for sure! it'll give you a perfect start and idea to get going!

We think we have freedom, but we're all just mice in a maze....

FYI: I stole all my pix off google! F+ PORN! Here is a shit-ton of porn by yours truly!

I have FINALLY written up a couple teks as to how SHP has done things in the past. DISCLAIMER: This is not for the newbie to mycology, and not going to work for everyone! This is simply what works for one person when other teks and methods have failed miserably!
~~~~~How SHP does their unconventional WBS Prep!! (NO DRY METHOD)~~~~
~~~~~SHP's highly disputed method of doing ALL their work outside of a flow hood or a Still air box!~~~~~
~~~~~Troubles harvesting the side and bottom pins in your mono? Learn how!! Dunking included ;-)~~~~~
