that's bullshit. cannabis smoke nourishes the lungs with high levels of antioxidants and other phytonutrients
....and also the toxic carcinogens, right? Those are nourishing. PS. No. The lighter/flame destroys any antioxidants and phytonutrients. You'd have to eat weed for that.
You also seem to be forgetting
Nice try though.

Right, but we are discussing smoking. Nice try though. I'm a proud vape owner myself, but I still smoke. Smoking is in no way good for you, considering there are healthy alternatives.

vaporizers are 1/5th as bad as smoking traditionally... still bad for you though. 5 puffs/rips will equal one regular smoked rip... and for ppl who smoke nearly everyday... it will compound as time goes by.... 5 days of vaporizer smoking will equal a day of traditional smoking... see where i'm going with this?
I used to smoke but I never had strong lungs, and had asthma when I was young... and now that i'm actually in good physical shape now and running 5+ miles every other day... i'll preserve the hairs in my lungs for the time being

However as an aside, couldn't one just take pot orally for all benefits with zero smoke damage to body?

it has carcinogens but thc stops the cells from becoming cancerous.
also you don't have to eat weed for the anti-cancerous properties, unless you believe when you smoke it you don't get thc or cannabinoids in your system, and then in that case you obviously wouldn't get high.
"Over the last decade there have been numerous publications demonstrating the anti-cancer effects of plant and synthetic cannabinoids. Notably, the main ingredient of Cannabis, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), has demonstrated the ability to kill multiple types of cancers in a variety of cancer research models. CBD (cannabidiol), another common plant component, has also shown the ability to kill cancer cells, recently it has been used to successfully treat breast cancer in a mouse research model of the disease" http://www.examiner.com/medical-marijuana-in-philadelphia/another-study-confirms-anti-cancer-effects-of-thc-and-cbd-1

Still isn't good for your lungs. I don't give a fuck what you think about pot being a god send, smoking anything is not good for the lungs. I guess you don't get it. You see that tar in the pipe? Yeah, that goes in your lungs too.
Pot isn't a cure-be-all for cancer either, and you need extremely high doses all the time. You don't get that from smoking pot, thats mainly from hash or oil, ORALLY, not smoking. Telling a cancer patient to smoke weed to stop his cancer is like telling a 1000lb man he needs to eat McDonalds 7 times a day to lose weight.

is there a specific source you heard that from?
in the article it says
"extract containing a 1:1 ratio of THC and CBD, 7.5mg each). Interestingly their results also showed that TMZ resistant cells, can be killed by cannabinoids or in combination with cannabinoids."
in other studies like the on by harvard, it says standard doses which i'm not sure what exact amount that is

When did this topic become trying to prove whether or not THC is good for you? It's moot.
Show me how the benefits of *smoking* thc, or ANYTHING for that matter outweighs the detriment to the lungs/respiratory.
If this is going to turn into a THC debate then can we please just agree that eating THC will give you all of the 'super life bonus effects' of THC whislt not having to smoke at all.
