One thing nobody mentioned yet: you fricking raped that patch!
Don't tear it up like that. If you look at the bottom of the cluster you can see that you tore out half of the whole fungal organism. Not good, man, not good at all. Pick the mushrooms, leave the mycelium.

Some guys have all the luck.
I mean setting out to find psychedelically worthless pan foes and returning home with a bag of ovoids misidentified as pan foes really takes the cake.

lol. Exactly what I was thinking, mate.

And I've been searching in the same area for three years without finding a single one.

WTF?

Ya, last night I was thinking I took all the mycelium and was thinking I screwd myself and possibly others.  But I'm glad that i got all the mushrooms.  Since today, they are under 2 ft of water, and will be under 5 ft soon.  Would the mycelium survive that prolonged exposure to water?

In any case, I have definitely realized how much of a mistake I made.

BTW, I'll be eating some today at around 5pm.

I'm just bitter because I've put tons of time and effort into finding these things and it seems like the people in my area who find them and post them up here are finding them on their first time out without even knowing what to look for.

OP, I'm not happy you got all the mushrooms because you most likely destroyed that patch and ruined any chance of you going back and finding more.

:mad2:

all in good time dude, i have a feeling you will be making a great massive find this season . sending good ovoid vibes!

realistically, this mycelial network is bigger than one patch of 20 mushrooms. as long as the op gets all that myc onto cardboard and then onto fresh chips, and then that beautiful mycelium will not be wasted. as for the whole patch, i am sure it will survive. disturbance is not always that bad of a thing.

Also, I just ate 1 about 5 minutes ago, the cap was the size of a nickel and stem the length of a AA battery (WET).  Will this be enough for me to verify the effects of psilocybin?  It's been about 10 years since I've had any.

I ended up eating a 3 caps and a stem.  In light of the experience, I have come to believe that I was meant to find those mushrooms. There have been alot of strange coincidences in my life lately.  For instance, last night when I was coming down, I turned on the TV and entourage was on.  They were walking through the desert after eating mushrooms.  One of them was on a quest for something or another.  Then today I ran into a good friend that I use to eat mushrooms with.  It's strange b/c I haven't seen him in years.  We are gonna eat some next weekend.

As far as the trip, there was some anxiety.  Which, I'm sure was a product of some personal problems I've been going through in my life lately.  I suppose I'm on a sort of spiritual quest.  I think my trip has helped put some things in perspective.  And, I feel the anxiety was all for the best.

On another note, It had been a while and I wasn't sure when they were really gonna hit me.  Then, I put on some Chakra videos on from youtube.  The ambient music was awesome.  I peaked within minutes. And WOW!  They were very "alucinogeno" indeed.
