My peyote look really really bad
    #14359982 - 04/27/11 08:20 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Alright so first off, no flames I didnt do this on purpose, its not neglect, I was on the other side of the country from these for awhile. They were in low light, low nutrients, and no water for a long time.

I fed them by mixing some rich potting soil with water in a jar and pouring all of it in. There is only 1/16th inch of potting soil on top, under that is sand and soil and perlite.

Well My big one in the middle used to put out fruits and seeds for me, but now it wont. So I just want to know how I can make them healthy again so they will grow and make seeds.

Thanks.

Wow. Iam sure they will be ok in the long run but they are always gona look wrong.
They need more lightage. and when winter comes u must make them go into their dormant state for winter i.e let them get cold.
If u dont they will want to try and continue growing because they think its still summer so should be growing but without enough light for them, they tend to search for sunlight. there is a special name for this  i forget it now.

If u want u could cut off the pointy bits. take a few year or so and u would have a short multi headed peyote.

The guy in the back ground was cut and now is doing good

I agree with Smucka, give 'em a hair cut and plant your cuttings.  Then you'll have a whole host of funny looking lophs!

OP already has that. I'd keep one that way. Columnar Lophs are exotic.

Alright you guys, they are going to get a haircut and some light. How many watts of compact flouros should they get and how close?

Is the cactus dirt that is at lowes good for peyote? I thinks its called scotts or shcultz cactus and succulent soil.

Has anyone pulled of grafting a peyote to a rubber tree?

this IS neglect. i'm not gonna flame you but don't split hairs. anyone that is close to you here can probably water them for you.

even under a back porch. hidden away from prying eyes, it can still survive.

thats neglect buddy and of the worst kind.

Just because they aren't special, that doesn't mean they don't deserve love ...
