Heard a fish tank heater made into a 2 liter heat bomb worked good for regulating temperature. Heard 85 was good temp ? Was good what temp do you use? im incubating jars with rye grain and possibly bird seed for spawn and casing ? Don't have fish tanker heater though any thing else I can use? Thanks for anyone with info or sites to check out.

I use 75F, and when I did incubate, I had about a 75% contam rate. Go raw!

I colonize in the same room I fruit and do gb work in, I just put my jars in a cardboard box, its breatheable and raises the temp just a bit. Temp hovers in the mid 70s.

i set mine to 80-84 so it would be about 80-83 degrees inside the incubator, and only got 2 contaminations out of 65 jars
ive always had more luck with using an incubator than not using one

I've not had problems incubating jars, but when I do the large bags heat is the enemy.
It's a pointless exercise tho. The spawn time is much more dependent on other factors than temperature.

65-72 here. You'll get slower rates of growth, but like mentioned above, higher temps promote contams.
As for other factors, your media moisture level and a proper lid setup are some things you should fine-tune. Furthermore, your inoculation procedure is likely the largest contamination vector if you are just starting up. Read a lot, and good luck!
