I bought the pc from a woman who has never used it and she said no weight or gauge came with it
the steam is not flowing out furiosly but rather gently/easily
so.. what do you think I should do?

That is probably safety valve and its controling pressure, but without manual or gage you dont know how many PSI is in there! Try researching on the internet...type in manufacturer and model! If u cant find out, just double your P cooking time...just to be sure!

If you have any doubts about the pressure cooker please  do  not  use    it!    It's less expensive to replace your PC than it would be to replace an eyeball or bodypart.  Safety first when using high pressure/high temperature devices.

Well if it doesn't have any means of regulating the PSI then the simple answer is no, it is not working as it should.

If you go to the TEFAL Manufacturers website there are detailed manuals.  It does have a regulator

if you pour a small amount of water onto the top of your PC while AT TEMP

it should BOIL IMMEDIATELY

indicating that the temperature EXCEEDS 212 degrees farhenheit.

250 is what we're aiming for with 15 PSI
