Who here has heard of Nightlight?
    #14296696 - 04/15/11 05:14 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

He's a man who posts on various forums, praising the healing properties of Organic, Additive Free Tobacco.

Here's one of his quotes from a popular NooTropics Forum, Longecity:

"Tobacco is a potent medicinal plant and youth elixir used for over 8000 years. Antismoking "science" is a money making scam, resting entirely on the worst kind of junk science, created and financed chiefly by the pharmaceutical industry. The big pharma reflexively seeks to suppress other natural medicines and folk remedies as well, especially those that work. Tobacco being the most beneifical natural medicine humans have ever known (tell me which other substance, matural or synthetic, extends the lifespan by 20% in animal experiments, while keeping the brain sharp into the old age, doubles our main internal detox and antioxidant enzymes glutathione, catalase and SOD,...), is the main target of the pharma's attacks on natural medicines."

And here's the link to that very thread which he started, entitled "Smoking is good for you!": Smoking is Good for You!

If you google: "nightlight" + "smoking" or "nightlight" + "Organic tobacco" + "health"  you can find some of his other posts.

I find him to be very interesting! :awecid:

Herp, I like smoking weed, it's really good for me, and cures diseases. People who say it's bad for me are a conspiracy.
Derp, I like smoking tobacco, it's really good for me, and cures diseases. People who say it's bad for me are a conspiracy.
^^both of these are wrong.
When I smoke crack, I feel like I'll live forever, so I most likely will. People who say it's bad for me are a conspiracy.

Well, you don't see doctors prescribing people a carton of cigarettes or giving them a tobacco card. :stonedjerk:

Medicinal marijuana is pretty much bullshit as far as smoking goes.

Put me up against a chronic weed/tobacco smoker and let's go for a 6 mile run.

I guess you missed the recent studies done by Harvard University, University of Saskatchewan, UCLA, Complutense University, etc?

There's a pretty good article that links to many (but not all) of them at the Growery. Check it out

I'm down.

I'm pretty in shape for a daily cannabis user.

I'd be curious to see if there is any evidence for his claims.

At least for the animal studies (from the graph posted), they're confounded by weight loss and frankly, don't mean shit.

Smoke is detrimental to your health... smoke of any kind. Case closed... weed may have mental benefits but physically if you smoke weed/cigarettes or whatever it will deteriorate your respiratory system over time not matter how much you think it won't. Some people have iron lungs though, but most dont.

As much as I would love it if tobacco was good for you, it sounds like the wishful thinking of a smoker to me.

Again I think this is wishful thinking.  I do think that in moderation pot is good for you (just going by how my body responds to it) but no kind of smoke can be good for your lungs.

....and also the toxic carcinogens, right? Those are nourishing. PS. No. The lighter/flame destroys any antioxidants and phytonutrients. You'd have to eat weed for that.
