Lacrymaria lacrymabunda I believe.

You should learn to type using more than one finger, Bob. Also, I find it helps if you learn where the keys are subliminally rather than looking at the keyboard for 5 minutes trying to find the one you want.

As a matter of interest, what gives away one species over the other? I read that one has weeping gills when it's wet but I'm sure there are other factors (especially as this specimen is bone dry).

It's your digital footprint... it's more of a digital snail trail.

Depends on your source...According to Kuo, they're separated at least in part by the spore ornamentation.
I know MO has Lacrymaria velutina depreciated under L. lacrymabunda. Not sure of the particulars...

I don't think so, but I don't really know...any of the ones I've taken the time to look at have had very spiny spores.
