Morel project fruited...outdoors

Back in spring of 2009 I started a clone off of a white morel I found in a local woods. This grew out on agar plates lost a few to mold. I got a couple good grain jars, Widemouth pint jars, that I liked from the other plates that I worked with. This in turn went into a filter patch bag some wood pellet fuel sawdust in it. I let the grain go to the bottom of the bag, all done in front of my flow hood. Sawdust was sterilized. Once sclerotia was forming well, I took all the contents of the bag and took it outdoors and planted it in the ground behind an old shed facing south by a maple tree. Wish I knew where all my pics went to since my move
 one of the tissue plates
The fruits that were stumbled upon today behind the shed. There were only 3 but had to get some close up shots. Now to try to get them to work indoors.

Congrats, fruiting morels is a great accomplishment from what I understand, even outdoors. Keep us posted.

can you tell us more about behind your shed? what trees shade that area, are there any small elm trees, etc...

Yes yellow morels, Morchella Esculenta. The tree that i placed them under was a maple tree that has been there forever... even survived a tornado. But there is also a butternut tree around 40 to 50 feet away that is around 10 years old. the soil that they are in is facing south as to be exposed to as much sun as possible during the day. There is also some horse tail weeds that grow there during the summer as well.
