Someone beside me is talking about God and faith

But if I listen close enough to can "see" what he really means.
His behavior and language indicates he's a needy person who values security. It indicates he prefers structure over chaos; that he likely adheres to the majority of social and familial norms.
These are background characteristics that speak through his stereotype. But what he is saying at the moment is in fact a mild form of peacocking to the woman he is discussing it with.
I mention this not to belittle religious people (or whatever tactics you folks use to snag some tang) but rather that, to my mind at least, no matter what people are discussing specifically, I can always detect their larger intentions and implications. This is especially true at parties when people are given free range with strangers to express themselves; you can read between the lines and decypher their desires for: friends, a mate, self-confidence, drug hookups, a one night stand, etc.
Another page in the book of The Map Ain't the Territory, and one reason among many that tripping around fellow humans is wacky business.

According to religious people, not collecting stamps is a hobby.

According to blujay, responses don't necessarily have to be germane.

so you're sitting next to some random person, tripping and texting us your psycho analytical take on the whole situation?
that's awesome! sounds like some shit i would do if i "did" the whole texting thang.
i rarely trip around humans (aside from close friends), shit gets too weird for me.

"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

According to the OP, pronouns don't have to be declared before you use them.
I mean you don't even say what you're actually talking about, you just kind of belch some rhetoric. My response was such to illustrate that point.

Your post has 3 sentences, 3 contractions, and 2 commas.
This response is to illustrate that point.
Never mind religious people, intuition, or communication.
We'll get to that in a thread about the Yankees.

I think tripping around people is a whole different ball game. There is a lot to be learned, especially by way of unique connections, bonding, insights, etc. But at least to my mind the negatives far outweigh the positive -- I'm more likely to sacrifice my own mental exploration for a continuous sensitivity to their own fears, anxieties, "ah ha moments", or whatever peculiarities they are going through. Personally I think interacting with trippers is much more rewarding when I am sober; then my ideas and behavior evaluated from their perspective (assuming they are down for such exchange).

Christianity is a beggar's religion, it's true.
Weird to see what it became in the hands of the privileged and advantaged

I know. And it's weird too to see how an ideology that suppresses females can be eagerly embraced by some women.
I like how Joseph Campbell interprets the myth of Jesus, in the sense that it represents a voluntary descent to earth in order to undergo a lot of negative turmoil and transformation. The common interpretation by the every day plebes parallels one where Jesus was destroyed against his will and twisted by the ills of society -- which mimics the "down and out" depression of workers and the simple minded who feel constantly used by the world.

Individual interpretations of mythology tell us a lot about the interpreter...
Sometimes I wonder if that's not part of the point of the mythology.

True that. And then when we see threads of similarity and patterns in all the world myths we can inch our way closer to discovering more about universal human nature.

That only happened when I tripped around sober people- which Ive only done once- It peeled away the facade and reveled what they were really trying to get from the situation, the factions whos trying to kiss up to who, all of that became glaringly obvious. I had a hell of a time playing off all those things throughtout the entire night, thats one Im never gonna forget

I know right, you feel like you need to "keep up"
Tripping around sober people in their natural habitat is fucking weird, dude.

Glad I'm not the only one who's been through this!
Sober people are definitely more readable and obvious in their true intentions, but I can also get the vibe from fellow trippers -- although they do tend to be more on the same page mentally, and usually sharing a similar vibe.

It becomes apparent what a huge game we are all playing.
I remember watching a relative of mine who was tripping for the first time. He was watching his room mate count cash from his wallet when suddenly he busted out hysterically, laughing and yelling how "money is really just paper."

I sometimes find it frightening how seriously people take that game...
Though it's steady sailing if you're not around too many sober people and the ones you are with understand your mindset

see i'm one of those cursed (and blessed) individuals who was born with (or grew into) an innate sensitivity to the intentions of others, no psychedelics required. with that being the case, if i take any psycho actives, even the smallest dose, being around others becomes almost too much for me.
i only smoke herb or eat mush around people i can trust and in as controlled an environment as possible (by "controlled" i mean somewhere where i wont be bombarded by the energy of humans i don't know or wasn't expecting to be around). i try to only trip in the woods and with one or two friends.
i took a medium dose of mushies (couple of grams) two weekends ago at a friends place and, of course, right when i was peaking his neighbors popped in unexpectedly. i tweaked on them just a little bit. got really aggressive vibes from the guy (had met him once before when i was sober and didn't like his vibe then either) and was not wanting at all to be around him.
my friend is pretty naive when it comes to the intentions of others and he was all like, "yeah man, it's cool if y'all come chill for a while" even after i had specifically let it be know that i wasn't chill with the situation. kind of an asshole move on my friends part but like i said, he's kind of a tard when it comes to reading other people.
lesson learned: trip in the forest where no neighbors can pop on by to ruin the journey.

That video was gold.
"A hipster male sends out his mating call."
"Assisted ejaculation."
"Afterwards, party goers descend to the nearest niche in order to hibernate."
