Today was one of my best edible hunts in a long time Chants are up, lobsters, chickens, oysters. I was in paradise I only stayed for about 3 hours, but i'll be back very soon. Enjoy the pics.
-------------------- Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

So, after finishing my job and returning to my hometown of PDX, i celebrated my freedom for the next two months and the onset of fall with my first real hunt in 4-5 months. I know the only thing worth eating is the boletes, but i didn't feel the others deserved a new thread to show them. Not to mention i think you could eat every one of em, even the Paxillus.
Psathyrella candolleana
Coprinellus micaeus i think.
Laccaria laccata
At least two species of edible Boletes if find fruiting on different lawns in the same 50 yards sidewalks every year.
Paxillus involutus
Leccinum scabrum or similar
Pan foes/cincts

Hey Peeps, I going to make at trip East, to the foothills to search for Chanterelles.
I am going to go the North side of a cascade foothill, between 500, and 1500 feet. I think this is going to be the best General hunting grounds.
I have never specifically hunted Chanterelles, and am wondering if anyone could be so kind as to critique my proposed hunting methods. I am thinking the north side will be the wettest. What do you think? Thanks Again

Sounds good to me. With the moisture levels in OR, id be going west, but i assume it got wetter earlier for you up there.
