Biggest Ps. Subaeruginosa I've ever seen! - Australian Hunt

Hi guys,
Had a pretty active Easter weekend, went hunting in two different locations. First off was the Dandenong ranges, and from what I saw and have heard from others they are apparently pretty dead for subs. Got covered in leeches and was lost in dense bush, a little hairy when it went dark but still fun! Now sorry about the picture quality, it's something that always pisses me off too - but my cell phone is just so much more portable.
Anyway here is the absolutely massive sub that was found today, from north of the city, 8.5cm cap diameter. Everyone has their thoughts about whether the species is different from New Zealand subs, I'd put my money on yes. I have never seen a sub this massive, it's ridiculous.
I know the pic doesn't show that it's a sub too well but if there are any doubters, there will be a huge spore print tomorrow, and I can get (bad) microscopy pics: but I hope you just trust me. I am cloning the stem in wet cardboard, I don't have any way to use agar atm, but if someone in Melbs does, I would love to talk to you. A master slant would be worth the trouble.
 A few other largish subs.
Never tried Lactarius before, I did however find that cooked with scrambled eggs, it was in fact delicious.
 Cortinarius archeri
 Habitat shot of today.
Squashed leech that we found on my friends' neck while on the train coming home.

Nice find!! It has a good clean shape, which makes it look freakishly big.
I couldn't tell you for sure whether there are different species between NZ/Aust, but the biggest sub I have found in NZ was 11cm across when flattened out (and I have heard of bigger), so they do get big here too!
A couple of years back someone was posting pics of some massive sub specimens from Western Australia... will see if I can dig it up

Hey Haunted - long time no see! From what I'd gather these specimens are all very large because of the thick grass/ground areas they need to spring out of. The cap on this one is actually wider than a credit card, it's getting into Cubensis territory.
Got a few prints for posterity.

Oh yeah I should have changed my profile, which I will do now. It's in Victoria, about 1 hour north of Melbourne. We went to the Dandenong ranges first - and didn't find anything at all. I have heard others who have had no luck in Dandenong either.
