thanks for the photo!

will these be easy to scrape off later?

am i suppose to see "dots" ? it's so dark [like the photo] that it just looks like one big black ring?

well, it depends on what you made the print on, which determines the easiness of scraping. my friend like to wrap an index card or some other type of stiff paper with foil. scraping shouldn't be a problem.

dots? if you're referring to the seeing individual spores, no. unless you are using your microscope.

When JunoCycle makes prints/syringes.... he uses a whole print for a syringe...He uses tin foil to make his prints. When he is ready to make a syringe .. he use a razorblade to scrape off the spores.. this works quite well for him...Sterilize the blade with a flame.. let it cool.. Put the print on a flat surface,,,like a plate... put the blade (the whole length of the blade) on the tin foil.. and pull it across the print. This is the easiest way JunoCycle has found to remove the spores.

Dark is good , as long as it did not come out with a lot of moisture stuck to foil , or whatever you printed on . Darker means more spores left behind , the more spores the more likely you are to have succesfull germinations of said spores .
Good Luck

I have dark a disease. Any syringe not at least as dark as PF's I don't count. The Lil' Guy used to say "XXX dark" and we laughed when we got them because it looked like buying PF syringes and diluting them 1/3.
I use 3-4 prints in a jar of sterile water and get several good 12cc syringes. I have a 60cc syringe of cambodian very very dark - but aren't sure if they are viable yet.
Foil is too sticky for me - some folks like it. Paper passes contams - so clean is the word in every case. Petri dishes suck for storage in my experience; great to collect and use right then - but they dry bad and get dirty in dishes if you try to store....at least on my try...

interesting. my experience with PF syringes was that there were no visible spores. TLG Dark Days syringes OTOH had an overall purple tint and there were thousands of visible spores. back on topic, Darker = Better when it comes to prints and syringes.

CURENADO-"I use 3-4 prints in a jar of sterile water and get several good 12cc syringes. I have a 60cc syringe of cambodian very very dark"

You guys are wasting ALOT of spores!! You should be able to pick up a syringe and SEE, THROUGH the clear water, at the most some real big spore clumps floating around .It really isn't nessisary to make your spore syringes so "DARK" that they look black and nontransparent.I don't know how many you (CURENADO) ment by several but a spore print thats dark like these should make not several but ALOT of syringes

Made on heavy duty alc swabbed wax paper (like butchers put hamburger patties on, as in 6 X 6 unch squares - can be had in several hundred sheet boxes at most meat markets - for cheap).

Alc allowed to evap, set fresh shroom cap on it, cover with an alc swabbed clear plastic container w-1/2 inch square hole in it, cover with micro/porious tape (to allow gas exchange & so humidty doesn't build up.)

Once print is laid, remove cap, replace cover for a day (to allow spores to dry - a bit).

Alc swab another piece of wax paper (allow to evap), cover print w/second sheet & seal with seal-a-meal, food saver or impulse sealer.

One fat healthy cap will make 2 good prints, easy.

Cheap, easy, clean, visible, well sealed & handy to mail.
