Agar Plate

Greetings,
Only this week, Saturday i walked into the world of agar plates. I used to the standard Malt recipe, and i made up a few dishes of pan cyans. The dishes where prepared in a glove box, that was sprayed down with oust. I have noticed growth on the dishes. i would like some feedback from trained eyes, as i have no idea what this is.

if i look at the edge of the blobs i do see some minor fibres out branching, but that could just be a something else.
Does this look like normal pan cyan (jam) growth or something else.

looks like contamination. I can't tell what type by the fuzzy pics. Also, how did you inoculate the agar? Did you use an inoculation loop? did you use a spore solution? did you just scrape spores from a print onto the agar? Those all play a part in giving you an accurate answer.

Yeah im not entirely sure how to get a clearer picture. This particular plate was inoculated with a spore solution.
Eh but i think you right i think all my dishes are looking pretty suspect.

A spore solution has a definite pattern. The growth you have there seems to be random and sporadic. You have growth ranging from the center all the way to the edge. In my experience that is not consistent with a spore solution inoculation. That is mold contamination. I would guess that you'll start to see it turn green in the next day or so.

You know spore solution is liquid right and it can actually run over the surface of a gelatin like surface?
Thanks shroomery1, ill just leave the plates and see what happens and will just prepare some more

Whenever I knock up plates with a spore solution, I get growth all over the place. You never know where those funky little spores will end up after the solution gets swished around on top of the agar for a while. Best (and only) solution that I can think of is to use spore solution sparingly.

That picture looks exactly like a few plates I've made using spore syringes. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe you'd be so kind as to chime in on my thread about how long it takes pans to grow on agar? http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14351526

Sure no problem, but just glancing at your thread. I put solution on Saturday and this picture was taken this morning, so like 3/4 days?

I think I got old spores, or that there is some other explanation. I don't think I've ever heard of anyones pans on agar taking months to grow. Meh. Thanks for the reply. If you can get a better picture that would help, too, but to me, it looks like pan myc from a spore syringe on agar

Well i my gf came back from holiday and i got her to look at them (she's a microbiologist). She says out of the six dishes i made 3 look suspect, but the one pictured above is fungi growth as you can clearly see the tiny little strands trying to reach out, she called them something cant recall now.
Here are some other pics i just took, i know i should take it against a dark background, cell phone cameras suck.
This is a pic of the plate above:

A different plate:

No greens on any of my plates so far

I did that just about 20mins ago, sliced off a few pieces from the good dish and made up 4 new extra plates after which i will use to create an LC
