This thread is funny.
Why? Because Daniel Tosh made it funny.
Specifically because his whole shtick is to offend people, and look at how well he justs did it to people in this thread.
If you REALLY want to not give him any fanservice, you probably wouldnt be so wrapped up in his antics. Thats the WHOLE POINT OF IT. He even makes a nod to that in a skit,
"The Dave Matthews Band sucks."
[audience response]
"If that offends you, you are what's wrong with this country. Just because someone had differance in opinion from you, you took it as a personal attack instead trying to tackle the bigger issue...why do I listen to SHITTY music!"
So good job to everyone who fell for his whole skit, making this 'characature' he pushes even more powerful, hahaha.
How does it feel knowing you just bought into his gag, honestly? The guy's actually really polite, and pretty damn smart.
His whole agenda is to push the envelope to ridiculous levels, so we ALL get to a point where we just go, "Well fuck. Look at that. We're all the fucking same." If you take offence to what he says, I've got some sad news for you.... You care too much about other people, and you're taking life way too seriously.

I enjoy his comedy too. I get it. The guy on The Soup is pretty funny too, sort of the same shtick. Obnoxious/smartass/fuckhead humorists/comedians are funny sometimes.

Funny? Sure. And no one in this thread is dumb, I would venture to say we all understand its meant to be provocateur humor, but it's pretty tasteless sometimes even though it's on purpose. All I'm saying is I'd rather watch reruns of Carlin, Hicks, or Pryor any day of the week.

Oh easily.
You cant compare the old school types to this new school shit, it just doesnt work that way.
And I didnt say anyone in the thread is dumb, not at all.
But we have to look at why we think certain things are provacative. Thats whats important.

Well me too, but those guys are dead, and the reruns get tired. New stuff is good(sometimes). I also said no one is dumb here. I think Larry David is one of the funniest men alive, but a lot of people do not like him at all.
Did you ever read any of Woody Allens' short stories, or Steve Martins' Cruel Shoes? Sometimes these guys were/are racist but in a different way. Almost all comedians use a bit of racist comedy. It is a shtick one chooses.

Perhaps you fail to realise that his apparent "small minded and shallow" attitudes are satirical?
Its antisocial deliberate offending of people passing it off as comedy. Also known as trolling. What he does is play into the VERY REAL racial prejudices of his audience at the expense of black people in general. Thats really the bottom line, there are no redeeming features to what he does here.

Do you know Daniel Tosh personally? I don't think you're in any position to comment on the content of his character. All you know of him is what he has chosen to show you.
Being a paid comedian for comedy central is NOT an asshole licence. By acting like an asshole you open yourself up to criticism. He may not be a shallow cunt but it sure quacks like a duck on TV. Hitler may have been a nice guy in private too, that doesnt give him the right to act like Der Führer in public and mobilize racial tensions for his particular brand of lulz.

Isnt that like deliberately punching people in the face and laughing when they say ouch and making fun of them?
*deliberately breaks social conventions* *people take predictable offense* "HAHAHA FUCK WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!!"
Thats not comedy or satire, its a form of aggressively disagreeing with social conventions by attacking people and making fun of them.
We mods ban people all the time for this very same behavior

Why does everyone always have to mention Hitler in every single argument? Not enough that he was such a cunt, he has to be mentioned in every other conversation.
It just does not offend me. That's the thing. He shouldn't offend you either. He's trying to make you re-examine that part of yourself that allows other people to get under your skin for something as insignificant as a comedy routine.

Just upholding the law here:
Godwin's law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies or Godwin's Law of Nazi Analogies)[1][2] is a humorous observation made by Mike Godwin in 1990[2] which has become an Internet adage. It states: "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."[3][2] In other words, Godwin put forth the hyperbolic observation that, given enough time, in any online discussion—regardless of topic or scope— someone inevitably criticizes some point made in the discussion by comparing it to beliefs held by Hitler and the Nazis.

Good for you, I think.
Quote:

Neither you nor him nor Hitler have any right whatsoever to dictate what should or should not offend me.
We aren't offended, we are just calling a spade a spade here (or in this case a jackass/shallow cunt).

And he can fuck right off with that. The bigger problem in the world is not people being sensitive, its the masses being emotionally and morally numb.

The credo of the shallow cunt. Caring is wrong. Life is a joke.
Tosh is a shallow cunt. "No,no. He's just doing an impersonation of a shallow cunt."
Tosh is a bad comedian. "No, can't you see? That's just satire."

Bottom line to this. Is it racist? Who cares, Did it make everybody laugh? Most likely. Therefore, acceptable.
