It is not nonsensical you want to know why? Even when I was a child in elementary school before this supposed agenda of culturally defining aesthetic was foisted on us I still only found a certain group of girls to be beautiful to me. It wasn't learned as you suggest but it happens to be what I like. What I have always liked.
Hahaha, so you had no cultural influences when you were growing up? Nobody taught you any values whatsoever- you defined the universe entirely alone?
Also, you're only mentioning females when supposedly talking about beauty? Why? Do males not fit your definition of "beautiful?" Perhaps because you're talking about attraction or have mixed beauty and attraction together.
Of course there's subjectivity behind definitions of beauty and attractiveness. Nobody said you weren't entitled to your own opinion. But there are enormous and overbearing learned cultural influences (in addition to our genes) in how our minds are programmed to perceive such things and how we define everything. This includes beauty and attractiveness.

But there are enormous and overbearing learned cultural influences (in addition to our genes) in how our minds are programmed to perceive such things and how we define everything. This includes beauty and attractiveness.
And you're still wrong. When did this argument expand to defining the universe? Even if I had values instilled while young which would be a fraction of what they are today how does that invalidate my ability to gauge a person's beauty? Oh right it doesn't. You contradict yourself in your own words by telling me I am entitled to my own opinion of what is beautiful and I express my opinion in what I find beautiful you then tell me that I am confusing beauty and attraction. You even go on to contradict yourself further and say "Of course there's subjectivity behind definitions of beauty and attractiveness" but what? But I don't fit into this subjective analysis? I can't see what I find beautiful to my own eye? I know what is beautiful to me through my own lens and you (one would hope) know what is beautiful to you through your lens. However, since my taste in beauty differs and seemingly offends yours you have gone an illogical attack on my supposed inability to determine beauty. Dumb. Since you are doing what so many do when defending a fleeting argument and that's trying to only nail a portion of the argument in order to seem right let's simplify the argument. What do you find beautiful? I'm not talking about the universe, I'm talking about the human form, keep it in context. What do you find beautiful and why?

Are human beings not part of the universe? Does your supposed definition of "beauty" only apply simply to human females and nothing else? If so, then once again it seems you're mixing attraction and beauty. If not, then my statements are valid.
Culture defines how we look at the universe and define and describe form- including beauty, attracting, and the human form.
There is nothing self-contradictory about my argumentation; you are creating a false dichotomy. We have both nature (genetics) and nurture (culture) in us. Both of these are unique to an individual, but everyone has them and is psychologically disciplined by them. You seem to desperately want to believe that you are such an individual that you have fully commanded all of your thought processes all by yourself- no outside influence, no genetic preprogramming.
