yea i used 1/2 pint jars with cooked long grain brown rice. instead of the brown rice flour and vermiculite. i used 2 cakes per container cased in vermiculite
although i do have the same containers full with long grain that is currently incubating. i used a culture to inoculate. when they get goin ill post pics of those too.

how long did it take to colinise. I tried this over a year ago and used them to spawn to newspaper in 1 tub, and the rest for hpoo. worked nice.
It think my colinisation times for the rice was around 20-24 days.

That growth looks pretty healthy, especially considering that straight verm is a very poor casing material!
Make sure they get plenty of FAE while fruiting to prevent cobweb.

The 50/50+ tek is arguably the proven standard in casing. That's 50% peat, 50% vermiculite by volume, pH balanced with hydrated lime and some crushed oyster shell (calcium carbonate) added for pH buffering.
A lot of folks have had huge success with a commercial product, Miracle Gro Moisture Control (MGMC).

they have grown a little past the pic above.. the last two days ive seen very little progress if any. they seemed to have stalled. pretty high humidity, ive been fanning 4 to 5 times a day. mid 70s and i give them natural night by my window(not direct sunlight). i dont mist because they seem fairly moist i can see the condensation on them. what could it be?
