These were found in my backyard today 4-25-2011. I live in south carolina in a newer neighborhood and my yard is very well fertilized and taken care of. Please help identify!

Those are awfully dried for identification purposes, plus you need to take a spore print. Those look like Psathyrella sp. to me...

Of the spore prints i was able to gather, they were blackish brown.

It's always easier to make a positive ID with fresh specimens, I don't think they are P subbalteatus. Do a spore print though. And if possible, post a pic of a fresh (not dried out) one.

If there's any brown in that spore print, they're not what you're looking for. Panaeolus cinctulus prints should be jet black.

Yeah, ill try to pick some more tonight. They were already dried when i found them. what are some common psilocybin containing mushrooms on the east coast and where can you find them? I don't really have access to a cow field persay, but i do live in a neighborhood with well fertilized yards and on a lake.

Def not P. Cinctulus.
Someone posted an awesome identification guide around here on shroomery. I'm too lazy to find it, but it's really good... subbedhunter, I think, is the username?
When looking for Subbs, I could always tell by the stem. They won't be brittle like the ones in your pics look.
