has anyone been in an accident, gotten time off of work, but had to Fight for your disability? i have been going through this with my BF. the way they treat everyone, like they are liars, or dont deserve their money. when it is very well deserved. very sad for some people that really need it, or that have to go through this after something tragic has happend to them in their life. its almost as if the people at, lets just call it, the Disability company are paid commission each time they DO NOT issue somebody their disability. go figure he has to get the one Neurologist in the city who diagnoses him and goes right on Vacation for weeks without doing any of his paperwork to issue my BF his disability. we just have some of the worst luck ever. i wonder what we did in our past lives to obtain such bad Karma. what are some of your disability horror stories so that i dont feel as bad?

Yeah no problem, disability is something no one deserves to deal with. Don't let this bring you down though, everything happens for a reason and I guarantee there will be better things awaiting for you guys

Man, I feel for you.
I never had a problem getting disability. Back when I worked I lifted something wrong and got a hernia, put me out of work for the surgery and recovery, but my job was nice enough to have benefits, and temporarily disable me.
Then, when I got diagnosed with Schizophrenia it was practically handed to me.
HOWEVER.
My mom has a brain tumor, and it's causing her to have parkinsons, and she shakes horribly. She got denied twice for disability, and it took a year and half to FINALLY get it.
I think when it's a mental issue they are quick to approve you, but when it's physical they don't like to approve anyone.. at least not easily.
Good luck! Best vibes your way!

It really is about persistence. That, and it helps to find someone who knows there way around it. I'm sure google could help you get in touch with some people in your area. Hopefully some non-profit organizations and such.

I just got turned down. I had back surgery about a year and half ago and my back went out again. They didnt even give me any tests. They said I could get a part time job even though I wrote I couldnt sit or stand more than a couple hours. They take your money and then you cant get it when you need it. I consider it theft.

Yeah some fucked up stuff is going on a buddy of mine has diabetes don't remember with type but he manually insects insulin and has some seizure disorder but to add to it he can't get a drivers license because of the above and this man still can't get disability or drive a car to even get a job!!! But the best of luck to you and your battle.

This.
A company's disability policy is just like any other type of job benefit. You need to understand, review it, and know what the hell it is that you're getting. Don't just put it in the huge folder you get during "employee orientation day" and throw it away.
Read it and understand it. Ask questions. Figure it out. It's important.
It's like health insurance, don't wait until you need it to try and figure it out.

First of all they have to treat everyone as if they were liars because there are millions of liars out there looking to scam the system. Second of all you need to stop fucking around and own your own life. You seem very sweet but you are killing yourself. Stop it. Now. Today.
