The overlapping patterns and shrinking growing visuals - why they come and go?
    #14348070 - 04/25/11 08:58 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Hey there. I have done shrooms 7 times now, yesterday was my most powerful trip, off of 3.8gs dried.
About an hour in I started to see the shrinking type visuals I had seen before, but only for about a minute or two, then no matter what I did, I couldnt get them to work again during the rest of the trip. I really enjoy them and I am wondering why it can only happen when you dont want it to. Yet other times you can seemingly control it.
Same with the over lapping visual patterns, you know, like when the road turns into a scaly snake skin river - it always happens when you dont expect it, then it goes away once you try to analyze it.
Anyone have any idea why I could have intense visuals only an hour in, and not any more- even at and after the peak?

Eat 7g dried and let me know if you aren't getting the visuals you wanted.

Ive had more intense visuals on 2.5 than my recent 3.8g trip, which makes me think that it is just an area of your mind that can be tapped into, but at random times, I dont think you need more and more psilocybin to get them to work.
My trip in general however on 3.8 was more intense, just not the visual aspect.
Any ideas?

Yeah, take more like the guy above said. 3.8g isn't that much. Try 5g next time.

Usually my shit is super duper visual, however If you can start to identify what types of things induce visual response for your brain (for my brother and I its usually wood grain, burber carpet, kitchen floor tiles, granite counters, patterned carpets and drapes, plants, trees, clouds, lava lamps, milky cloudy type patterns... that sort of thing)  then if you *relax* and gaze into it and let your eyes unfocus just a little bit, we find it kicks in after a little while.  Don't stare AT it hard and TRY, instead relax and stare past it and into it.

Have fun!
