I think ghosts are bullshit; Spent some of my highschool years purposely trying to piss them off: Holy water, Ouija boards, satanic shit, pissing on "scared or haunted ground" being spiritually disrespectful, calling them out--Out of all the thousands and thousands of dead motherfuckers, you'd think I'd get a reaction out of one.
I was always like bring it at me! Cut my back, scratch my face, make me piss myself-I used every trick in the book. I used to be REALLY into the paranormal and the unexplained. through my own personal experience ghost hunters are nothing more than story tellers who combine it with live action roleplaying.
So ghosts, I'd say no.
However,I think there is a lot we don't know about t'ings but COULD know. I think some someone, or some group of people out there must have some very interesting stories or observations that have been hidden or maybe lost. When concerned with the paranormal, I think the healthiest attitude is to be skeptical yet optimistic.

I am specifically talking about being optimistic in relation to paranormal ideas nothing else. I'm not talking about money, cars, lotto, girls, or anything like that and optimism. ONLY optimism and the Paranormal. One can hope for the best and still be realistic.
I don't think ghosts are real and I wish they were.

Bigfoots are real. And I think we captured something at Roswell, which probably wasn't 'paranormal' but certainly interesting.

And those are precisely the types of things that aren't healthy to be optimistic about.

Do you also wish the FSM was real? Would it be healthy to do so IYO?

Fail logic is fail. You can make unwise decisions from a pessimistic mindset or a realist mindset.

I never said anything to the contrary, all I said is that being optimistic can be unhealthy; obviously, I am not implying by this that neither pessimism or realism can be unhealthy.

I don't see why you consider it to be pointless--excessive optimism can be unhealthy, and my reason for mentioning this is to counter Apollyphelion's suggestion that being optimistic in regards to paranormal stuff is healthy.

You're right--excessive optimism, excessive realism, and excessive pessimism can all be unhealthy. An individual who is optimistic about paranormal matters would be necessarily excessively optimistic due of the lack of evidence for those said matters, and the wealth of evidence which suggests that those said matters are bullshit.
I make the distinction because we're talking about an example of excessive optimism, and I just want to point out that, contrary to what Apollyphelion said, optimism in regards to paranormal matters is generally unhealthy.
