Little yellow dots..need a little clarification

K, i found some jars in the middle of the street and have been checking them every day or two to note their progress. 2 jars developed 4-6 little yellow dots each (around 3-4mm per dot) at around 80% colonization so i isolated them from the others to be safe. they're almost 100% colonized now and the dots are still there and look a little moist. This is the first time i've ever seen yellow dots and i'm a little worried about it.

i did a few searches on the words yellow, excretion, piss, mycelium piss, yellow mold, piss, and yellow mycelium. From what i gather it's nothing to worry about and everything should be ok. But from the posts i've read nobody responded back with what happened to their jars after they posted their questions, so i'm wondering if their jars were ok or if it turned out to be something other than mycelium excretion and it ruined their jars or what.

i'm just hoping that someone who has experienced this sees my post and can give me some feedback on what happened to their jars and how / if it affected them. i would appericate it greatly and it would set my mind at ease about them.

At that stage, you should consider untaping the holes and fliping the jars to boost colonization. The yellow stuff is most probably mycelium piss.

my boss at work told my to relay this mesage to you guys or i'll be subject to termination so here goes.

follow up on the "yellow dots" ::

well a month or two has passed since i posted this, here's what happened. i forgot to untape my jars and it took about 3 extra weeks till they were 100% colonized and ready to go. everything was fine except for 1 jar which smelt like rotten apples so i threw it in my front yard :laugh:

. everything would have went right but i put too much water in my casing layer which lead to green contam during the incubation stage of the casing, YaY! everything had to be thrown out. i now have growing contams down to a science! =P

this is hopefully mah last mistake, the batch i'm working on now seems to be doing well, i'm using quart jars of popcorn and a few 1/2 pint jars BRF style.
