unless your dog is old or sickly I think 3-4 oz is not dangerous but it will probably make him sick. If you induced vomiting within the 1st couple hours he will probably not notice a thing.

I hope all goes well, hate seeing animals suffer.

I think he should be fine...taking him to the vet could get pricey.

My dog ate entire bag of assorted chocolate and was fine.Think she had some runny poop for a day.

It's bad for them...but unless they are ill or old they should be fine.

That's just my personal experience.Vet tho would set your mind at ease 100% tho.
Hope he's good!

The worst part is the dog never realizes what made them sick! They don't make the connection from delicious chocolate to nauseous vomiting and painful diarrhea. They just go from "nom nom nom" to "herk herk bleck" without a thought in their head.

Also: I hope your pup turns out fine. That much chocolate shouldn't be a problem for that sized dog. Best wishes.

:whathesaid:  yea my dog ate an entire Ghiradelli dark chocolate bar and she was ok minus the fact that she was shitting the consistency of yogurt everywhere.  But you did the safe thing, hope all ends well.

Unless it's baking chocolate or 100% pure cocoa stuff, your dog should be fine.  Usually takes a couple OZ of the baking chocolate but that'll kill a dog, would take more than a couple OZ of standard dark and a shitton of milk chocolate.  (Would take like 8oz of baking chocolate for a 70-80lb dog)

Also when your dog growls at you when he's eating something he shouldn't, whoop its ass, and whoop it good.

they're crazy about it.
I had a fox terrier, ate a chocolate tablet, he was ok but for the rest of his life was completely obsessed with chocolate.
Hope your dog is fine!

dont worry my dog gets into chocolate whenever he can and he just feels sick and throws up.  non life threatening but taking him to the vet is a good idea.

I have a 16-pound fox terrier that has nommed down around 2oz or so of 85% dark chocolate on two occasions. He was fine, just some runny shit and that's about it. I was initially a bit worried as he's a small dog and it was very dark chocolate, but turned out fine in the end. Funny thing is he knows not to eat any sort of food that's not his but the chocolate he gets down on, I have to hide that shit.

When I was a kid our boxer ate an entire pound of chocolate, though it was milk chocolate so no big deal, she just got the shits and threw up a time or two...

hydrogen peroxide will help induce vomiting for future use and to help save on a vet bill.  and it realy works.  so long as u catch it in time.  had to do this once.
