Hi, FOAF's first time... your help will be appreciated. Pics provided are of two different jars:
One pic: Is that mycelium on one side and mold on the other?
Two PIcs: 4 weeks in ideal temps, and is it finished yet?
Thanks,

Sounds great ... I'm not afraid of reaching into the trash. Any thing specific I should know about, or is just a bucket and any kind of mulch?

don't open that shit inside!
make a hot water solution with a little bit of bleach, put the jars in that and open them outside (underthe water), then dump the hole mess in the trash or woods.
you don't want to have the mold to keep growing outside spreading spores into your home.

That's not really a problem, outside there are enough microbes that will end up jumping onto the substrate as well that trich mighit not take over anyway. I've seen trich get taken over by other molds when thrown into the compost heap. Plus there's so much naturally occuring trich outside and other moldspores, it doesn't really make a difference.

yeah but why take chances? he could end up with a trich patch just outside his house and that would suck.

No, you wrong every time you walk on the ground you are walking on Trichoderma spp, they are everywhere and are natural soil inhabitants.

This is all fascinating, and I'm just happy people care; however, the garbage went out today, with my failed jar inside.
