A few contam questions re: perlite, inhalation, grow room

Thank you in advance for helping clear this up for me, I have been searching for a couple of hours and am still unclear:
1. Is the perlite in the FC still okay if I realize the cakes have contam? What is the procedure with the perlite and FC...do I have to clean it?
2. I kept opening the lid of the FC (which is in my bedroom) b/c the cakes smelled more potent than other batches but I wasn't sure. The cakes soon became very very fuzzy, and eventually I saw green mold, so I threw them out. So, I inhaled a lot of the contam and it must have gotten out when I kept opening the lid. What are symptoms/effects, and do I need to clean my house?
3. I'm getting paranoid reading about contam and I basically live in screened in cabin so I cannot grow in a separate grow room. Is this a bad idea?
4. Are contaminate jars really unusable again? it seems like such a waste
Thank you for your guidance...

you ll be fine , green mold spores are everywhere in the air but if you feel sick got to hospital, im not a doctor. evidence shows that you ll not get sick that easy with green mold some black and brown molds are very bad.
definitely clean your working /grow area if yo can water and soap is usually enough but you can make a bleach water solution to clean it up to

dont know how your home looks but keep you FC as far as you can from the ground/floor

you can use them again with no problem as long as you wash them properly ,never open a contaminated jar indoors remember mold spores will stick to you very easily so take precautions ,dump them outside
good luck.

If there's a lot of mold spores on the perlite, it's a good idea to boil it in a large pot of water for a few minutes. Alternatively, you can bake it on a cookie sheet in the oven for half an hour or so. RR

cool, thanks! And, can you keep using the perlite over and over again? Also, I'm about to start using a PC, and I was wondering if you are supposed to put the lid upside down the same way PF tek suggests when using a boiling pot, or do you need to use it the correct way for a proper seal?
AND, I've read so much about keeping the tape on after inoculation, and leaving it off and I don't know which to do. In the video it looks like he goes right through the tape with the syringe instead of peeling the tape off first and then replacing it. I'm confused about the best technique to use...
Thank god for this forum...the best thing ever!!!
