Thanks man!
Yeah I've been thinking of layering soaked cardboard and soaked woodchips with thin slices of the mycelium into some sort of tub. You think the tub should have holes in the bottom for drainage?

TO tell ya the truth - i put my original azure grain jars just straight outside and it DID WORK BUT.......... it does attract LOTS of rodents So for you starting with rye berries - id make a tub ( search around here for best ideas) but make a little transfer tub - id have drainage holes - and holes for it to breathe air and give off its c02 Patients is KEY - - - - all it will take is patients and TIME!!!! make layers for the berries to jump off of for sure - id use soaked/boiled chips and organic soil (((( if you've followed me on here you'd kno i LOVE happy frog )))) for MANY reasons too Maybe just use the cardboard ontop to help keep it shaded and keep in some extra moisture ontop Its soooooooo easy to spread these woodlovers - its a cakewalk Goodluck bro

I got an azure spore syringe and will be inoc'n rye jars as soon as possible to spawn to woodchips. I normally pick lots of cyans in the season but i would have to drive way up north to see azures so ima spawn it to a tub outdoors. Which would be better, a tub or an outdoor bed?

just dig some holes - pound down some stake maple-alder branches - and fill with layers of soaked chips and heady soil tubs would be good but especially in your area- you want them to SPREAD My azies tend to run outwards aggressively trying to overtake the border areas then you can also feed the hungry healthy rhizo's the next spring - and it will also be WAY easier to just keep expanding your bed Azzie vibes bro

start your spore syringe in jars of rye - pressure cooked old school - then transfer the colonized grain to cardboard mixed with chips
- get chips from local tree trimmer places - and also stores sell different brands of "smoking chips" for grilling food - they work GREAT and you can pick diff kinds of wood
0- use the best high quality organic soil ( with mycorhizzal bacteria ) and they will LOVE IT -
once you got a jar with rhizo's on wood - let it colonize the whole jar - be patient - and then start expanding your jars slowly but surely - make atleast three outta the one good one - maybe four
throw jars in beds of chips and soil outdoors in the spring and hope for fruits in the fall - the next fall FOR SURE
Woodlovers are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy - waiting patiently is the hard part - but your first fruits will make it ALL WORTH WHILE
Goodluck

sure man - spores gotta get the initial pressure cooked sterile environment - then from there on - its as easy as tossing around colonized woodchips - open air - no worries about contams - they EAT EVERYTHING

be patient with the woodlovers - but yeah your best bet would be the WBS or rye berries - then go to chips as fast as you can - you'll be amazed how strong they are on wood

It's never too late! But you might not see fruits this year.
Get them in the ground asap IMO, and you might see some fruits in the fall. If not, keep them moist and shaded, and you should see them in the fall of 2012.
