Sweet pictures Bob. #7 looks awesome. Love the colors.

Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

Thanks guys!

2-4 under flora are trout lillies.

I don't know what the snake is. I'd guess a garter snake but I don't recognize the pattern or the black patches on its' head. I was hoping someone could ID it for me.

1-2 Trametes versicolor (Turkey Tail)
3-4 Stereum ostrea (False Turkey Tail)
5 Trametes gibbosa I think. (Thanks, Thinker)
6 Dacrymyces chrysospermus
7 Cladonia chlorophaea sounds good. (Thanks, Twiz)
8-10 Gyromitra esculenta (Conifer False Morel)

Coltsfoot, Trout Lillies, and Skunk Cabbage...

Can anyone ID the snake?:igor:

How dodgy is it eating false morels? Does anyone here eat them as a matter of course?

False morels contain the same chemical used to make rocket fuel. It's not that it's toxic (as far as I know), just highly carcinogenic. Not something you'd wanna mess with.

If you can't find one, shuffle down the way a little, a little change of scenery or a view from a different angle may give you the insight you need.
