A Stout and Bitter Ale, or a Smoother Lager?
    #14341617 - 04/24/11 12:42 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Whats your choice in ale?  I prefer the lagers with the lighter taste, a really nice one I found is Leinenkugels...  Wisconsin I think.  Kona Longboard is good too.  Not too bitter.  But they are weaker than good stout ales.

Depends on the temperature. If its hot out nothing beats a lagar, but once it cools down, a good bitter or stout is where its at.

If you are a fan of Kona Brewing Company, you need to try the Coco Loco, or Coconut brown. Its amazing.

Do you have any favorite bitters?  I've only had a few, but I loved 'em.

I just bought a four pack of this stuff yesterday... gonna try it tonight... they claim they salvaged yeast from a sunken vessel from 1825 and revived a 19th century recipe for porter.

I have to give that a try.

I will give it a try.  We have a new beerstore here in town that has over 500+ types of beer already I think.  They specialize in imports (not american microbrew or craft, though they do carry some), craft and microbrew imports are definitely on their list, and good hawaiian beer too.

Liking one kind of beer is like liking only one kind of food. Variety ftw.

Yeah, I just found a 'diamond in the ruff' liquor store... it's this little place that I never heard of before or been to before yesterday and they carry over 800 different brands of alcoholic beverages.  I was sincerely blown away when I walked into the place and saw the intimidating selection, they had beer from Poland, Germany, Czech republic, Slovenia, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, England, Slovakia, Italy, France, Japan, etc.etc. almost every beer producing country was represented.

That's where I got the original flag porter.
