Does anyone else drink a protein shake for breakfast?

When I get up my stomach always feels empty but for some reason I still don't feel like eating. So I started drinking a protein shake to get rid of that empty feeling. It tides me over till I feel like eating something.
I mix the french vanilla whey powder shake with chocolate syrup to flavor it up. I'm guzzling one down right now. They are awesome!

Protein shakes are great. If you get amino acid supplemented ones, they're somewhat psychoactive as well. You won't get "fucked up" but it's definitely an anxiolytic and a mood booster.
If you're flavoring the French vanilla with chocolate syrup, why not just buy the chocolate flavored one?

That sounds really good for you.
No protein shake. Either water/tea, oatmeal a hard boiled egg usually.

it is. i'm a "vegetarian" (although i still eat fish and eggs) and i lack the protein i need because of my diet. the hemp helps to up my daily intake. i'm also a big fan of the hard boiled eggs and oatmeal.

I have to ask. Why did you decide to become a vegetarian?
My buddy did it because he saw some documentary about how animals are really raised and slaughtered for our meat sources.

well, my desiscion to lay off the meat was initially influenced by life circumstances. some years back i was a "full time" missionary and lived off of the good graces of other people (please hold your opinions on that life choice, i don't really care to know).
as was the case, i didn't receive much money beyond rent and would get my food from the shelters and soup kitchens i was volunteering at (they always had a massive supply of donated food from local supermarkets). Now, the meat these places donated was definitely low quality and i was kind of sketched out by it. So i decided to stop eating meat until i could afford higher quality cuts.
as time passed i realized i didn't like the way meat made me feel (really sluggish) and eventually lost the desire all together.
guess it's been about 5 years now...seems to be workin' out for me.

Pretty good. Vanilla flavor whey with Hershey's chocolate syrup.
And gerryjarcia, that has got to be the most unique "Why I'm a vegitarian" story I've heard to date.

yeah, i tend to not share my personal eating habits with others. most people that are vegetarians use it as some sort of identity statement, that whole "i'm better than you cause i don't eat dead animals" thing.
i could care less what others choose to put in their bodies

I know, my vegitarian buddy gave me a rash because i got a new leather jacket. He was going on and on about how those cows are raised and mistreated and blah blah. I was like, look dude, I ate the rest of the cow. I might as well not let the skin go to waste.
I don't find a problem with his vegetarian preference. Its just he tries to push it on me like its a new religion.

anything that is "Whey Protein Concentrate" - this is slow release protein.
"Whey Protein Isolate" - is fast release, and really only useful to bodybuilders etc.
