I want to rent a car here right, and go camping, but the rent shop says i can only drive in my country and can not take it outside of the country, im in EU
What does it mean - i am no allowed to leave country? is it because there some code on the license plates or something else? i mean i am not allowed to leave country, but can i if i want ? will i be stopped at the border?

I worked for enterprise here in the states for a while (horrible company) and they wouldn't let you leave state without an extra deposit. The reason being, as follows--we had a lady rent a car at our office in Florida and three weeks later, we got a call from an impound in New York explaining that the woman had been arrested and our car was awaiting pick-up. The reason that rental car companies do this is because it can be a pain in the ass to get the car back if something happens...granted you'll probably end up paying for it but they still have to get the car back or get a new car to fill the spot in the branch fleet.

Only your contract with the company. And they might have a GPS locator in the car.

Plates might have something to do with it but I doubt it. No, there are no GPS systems in the cars. Believe me, they don't really care about the car, just the money (i.e. don't let ANYTHING happen to the car that might incriminate you for a breach of contract).

It probably means that your insurance coverage ends at the border. If you leave the country then you don't have any insurance. If you damage the car, or damage someone else's car, or worse you injure someone, it's all on you. No insurance.

Depends on the company and the car, I'm sure.

Just pick a rental company that allows you to take the care abroad. There are many of them in Europe; especially the larger corporations. I quickly checked Budget, which allows the car to be used pretty much all over Europe including the British isles.

any rental car that has the gps maps in it has an gps locater inside of it. and the cetain big companies can access it.
however it is very unlikely
call another location branch but the same company and talk about the penalties just dont give them any info

Our cars did not have GPS systems, nor was it offered as an add-on. Some of the really fancy cars had onStar which I guess is trackable but I don't think they ever renewed the subscriptions. They don't do this though, trust me. There is not some secret office watching where the cars go. There is no reason to. Like I said--they don't care about the cars--the company gets sweet deals from the manufacturers. Plus, in a urban area, the cars pay for themselves in like two months. They just want to make sure they get their extra fees and add-ons.
You'll be fine OP-- just don't let anything happen to the car that would indicate a breach of contract. If you are going to intentionally breach contract, read it carefully so that you know what the conditions are. And another tip--get the cheapest car they have on the lot.

if u do happed to have an accident outside of the country and they want to stick it to you they still can
the chances of them wanting to skip it to u is the question
