I think the proper question is what part of DNA does DMT activate. It surely cant be the whole thing

jellyfish said: Joes right. And what the hell does activate DNA even mean. If you mean it alters gene expression I doubt it. I don't know anything about that particular book but it seems people who make these claims all have something in common. Which is a complete lack of understanding of any sort of biochemistry.

the trouble with being opened minded is you can fill your head with shit.
Because I watched a badly encoded movie with digital errors it really means all the people are really shape shifting lizard people who are from the draconian star system and exist in the 4th dimension who really drink our blood to remain human and the queen is one of them.

I think you should've used the word expand instead of activate, although they're still pretty similar.
There's this whole subdivision of genetics called epigenetics, which is alterations in gene expression coming from an outside stimulus, like chemicals and the environment. DMT, and all the other psych's are indeed chemicals, so there is obviously room for postulation. The lack of genetic understanding by the large majority of this board is going to be the barrier for this postulation.
I think there's without a doubt something there, something that trained scientists could uncover... but you're also not going to see funded studies as we're talking about sched 1 substances with "no medicinal value"
-------------------- The mushroom speaks: '"I am old, older than thought in your species, which is itself fifty times older than your history. Though I have been on earth for ages I am from the stars. My home is no one planet, for many worlds scattered through the shining disc of the galaxy have conditions which allow my spores an opportunity for life... How the hypercommunication mode operates is a secret which will not be lightly given to man. But the means should be obvious: it is the occurrence of psilocybin and psilocin in the biosynthetic pathways of my living body that opens for me and my symbiots the vision screens to many worlds"
