Spray bottle
    #14339495 - 04/23/11 07:01 PM (10 years, 25 days ago)

Hey I was wondering if I washed it out real good, could I use a shout stain remover bottle to mist my FC, or would it still have residual chemicals harmful to the mushrooms?

Not harmful, but in general it's a bad idea.
Get a clear water spray bottle, and only ever put water in there.

You can read thread after thread of people accidentally spraying all sorts of random chems into their grows.
Don't be that guy. But if you need a bottle right now, yeah, rinse well, air dry, use with confidence.

Just don't do what I did! I bought 2 of the exact same bottles for my water and 1 for my alcohol and the rest of this story tells itself! Not sure of the damage yet either. OOPS!!!

I don't spray alcohol, too terrified of fire to risk it.
Warm soapy water, rinse, air dry. That's all you need.

I keep hearing that. I've been real careful with sterile technique and so far it's paid off so I'm a little nervous to switch anything up.

Yeah, don't change anything without a reason.
But fire safety is a reason.

nothing wrong with using alcohol or bleach. keep in mind that bleach fucks up fabric and alcohol is flammable. imo alcohol is safe if youre safe with it. its not rocket science, fire hot, fire bad.

My problem with empty spray bottles that come from the store don't mist. They squirt in one stream, but all my other bottles that were purchased with window cleaner, febreeze, etc. all mist. I was thinking that when those ran out I'd clean it out really good and use it for misting my veggie seedlings, etc.

Check dollar/discount store for cheap spray bottles with the adjustable nozzle, though they might not create as fine a mist as more expensive ones.

I ended up remembering that my garden hose has a nozzle on it that mists.  I'm about to post my lil baby mushrooms in the grow log section.
