To innoculate or simply wait?
    #1433895 - 04/06/03 07:35 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

The amphibian will be relocating about May 9th or so and recently came into the possession of Creeper, B+, and Malabar strains. He plans to have the jars colonize at his current location, and then fruit after he has made the move. Approximately when should he innoculate (and which strain should he start with if that will matter at all) in order to have fully colonized jars by the time he reaches his new destination. I know people say 3 weeks is a good estimate, but he wants to allow for more time if the process is going slower than expected. Could he innoculate now, and if the jars do colonize in 3 weeks just keep them in the fridge till the big move, or would that not be a good idea and he should just innoculate about 3 weeks before the move?

3 weeks is a little long IMO. Especially since you may need to get settled in at the new place. The fridge will work fine.

Basically you asked a question that really only you can determine the answer to.

To answer your question, use whatever strain you want and give them about 2-3 weeks after innoculation

Those that are annoyed probably never use the search function.
When you search for info what do you use inoculation or innoculation?

Anno is only trying to make things better at the shroomery by making everyone use the same spelling. I think its really sad that some people would rather remain ignorant.

Keep it up Anno!

I'm all for correct grammar, i constantly correct people, but on the other hand you have to be careful because there is a fine line between a good attempt at helping someone to learn and being patronizing. I haven't been here long enough to tell which one of those sides Anno errs on.

You weren't here for the past few years when Anno answered everyones questions.
You weren't here when Anno built the FAQ to help people.
You won't probably be here long with your attitude problem.
Lose the attitude or your not gonna make many friends.
Last and not least...Anno is trying to help them learn how to spell the names correctly....he isn't calling them names or stupid or such!

To the original poster:
Start the jars when you want.
It will take you between 2 to 4 weeks to colonize your jars...and thats if you have optimal temps.
You need to figgure out if you want to take colonized jars with you on your move.
