Older programs for Music and Animation.

I need help from a PRO. Someone with lots of experience editing and creating music. Both electronic, and otherwise.

I also need info from someone that knows animation programs.

Ok, music first. I've used Acid pro for years. And while I want to move to the latest edition of Sonar so that I can do the broad range of actual creation that I see my friend doing, but I simply can't....

My really nice comp died last year and I'm still saving up for something great again. So for the time being I share a computer in the living room which has only 2 gigs of ram. And I have a free little Pentium 4 laptop withhalf a gig. So I'd like to use the living room computer for animation but I'd like to be able to use both for music.

I LIKE ACID PRO, it's NEAT. But I've seen what Sonar can do. I installed Sonar 6 on this computer but I'm not even sure if it will work. Seemed to be unimpressed when it scanned the computer on the first start up. But it did start up, now I just need to figure it out.

But I wonder how far back I might have to go. I wanted to re-mix some NIN at one point and since they uploaded clips for Ableton I downloaded it. My friend that's into Sonar called Ableton a pile of crap. Says it's hard to use and not that great, AGREE?

I know there are all sorts of SHITTY little animation programs online for free. But I want to hear from personal experience. I'd like to hear about something that might actually work somewhat well. I'm not expecting something amazing. Just something that can make work I wont be embarrassed about.

THANKS! :craven:

You should look into Adobe After effects. Cinema4D is 3d and really kick ass.

Blender is free / open source 3D software.
