living where? on the side of the street the cops were on, in the patrol car, the middle of the road, in the neighborhood, in the state?
"do you live here?" is pretty vague

i disagree. i don't think the person filming knew he was doing anything wrong, and was simply asking for an explanation before he was assaulted. i bet if the cop had just said "because it's against the law. do you wanna go to jail?" it probably wouldn't have escalated to that level.

For those of who judge the entire police force based on a few instance of abuse... shame on you...
There are many good cops out there actually looking out for your safety. Be proud of the people wearing the uniform. Its a tough job.

Yes there are good cops. Unfortunately when they are there to protect us the citizens ONE single bad one spoils all of them. I don't know a station that doesn't do things like wear "no rats" shirts during trials of cops etc. If they "policed" themselves it would be a different story.
Reading about this officer, a saint he isn't shooting disabled people and beating innocent suspects is all over him... I'm sorry if you told me the next day he was shot I wouldn't be sad at all. You don't even get ONE as an officer. Your allowed todo things regular citizens are not, that's a huge responsibility and you shouldn't do the job if you can't take it.
This whole video was just hard to watch. His mistake if he even had one was to say nope to the question do you live here. Cops are supposed to be trained to DE-escalate situations like this not start kicking the guy. It amazes me the cops gave the camera back with video on it. They were probably just far too stupid to delete the incriminating evidence.

A few?
Fuck the police, every fucking one of them. And ive heard all the "what if" scenarios so don't try to bullshit me.
Theres something wrong with a person that wants to impose their will on others right or wrong. If you have convinced yourself that ruining peoples lives is a noble cause I have no respect for you. Do you think it matters if the guy was breaking the law or not? The cop was gonna do whatever he wanted and anything the cop did wrong would have been swept under the rug.
Until the cops start beating the shit out of rich people the same way they do to the poor I don't want to hear shit about how much we need them.
Have fun drinking the kool aid.... shame on you.

That shit is really hard to watch. Solely on the fact that cops can get away with this behavior and nobody seems to be able to do anything about it.
Something needs to happen.

as the days go on, there is more and more stories about cops doing fucked up things.
whats worse is sense they are cops they are still getting paid after they fuck up. Their is one cop that has gotten 5 dui's and is on PAID suspension, another one held up a resturant while off duty, left his gun at the scene and they traced it back to the cop.
shit like that is going on more and more, it seems like the majority of cops are in it for themselves.. not to protect and serve.

i don't think anarchy is a better alternative to the police. we need them. but, the privilege of serving the community like they do comes at the cost of the scrutiny of the citizenry, and turning a blind eye to even the smallest abuse of power serves no greater good.
i respect the cops' role in society, as i said, but i hardly think they're heroes. it's a voluntary position that takes a certain breed to fill. that being the type of person that enjoys the authority the position grants them and the rush of the chase, the take down and the arrest. there's nothing wrong with that, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be keeping a watchful eye on who's doing that job for us.
