Give it longer. What are your day and night temps? My B+ jars only started showing the faintest growth at the 9 day mark.

Lots of reading to be done on this site bud, id get on that search button and never look back ;D
I lurked for a long time before i finally joined and started my first attempt. I feel strong about my first go at it, i feel comfortable with my knowledge so far, and the research has paid off. So far its looking like i may be 10 for 10 on my 1st round of brf cakes. I realize that doesn't actually say all that much, but its somethin i guess.
So in my little experience, i would guess you are referring to colonization? There are a few things to keep in mind during this phase, temperature probably being the biggest. High 60's will provide a better resistance to contaminates, but mycelium growth will be slowed. Temps closer to high 70's will provide faster mycelium growth, but be more prone to contaminates.
When you get better and contamination isn't as big of an issue, some say a proper incubation temp is right around 81. This coupled with the internal temp going up about 5 degrees due to growth inside, it brings it to a nice 86. Don't quote me on that though, only saw it on a few other threads.
Make sure the area your incubating in isn't TOO dry or it may leech out moisture and dry your cakes (especially if incubating at a higher temp).
As others said, it really hasnt been too long yet. Ive heard some say they had to wait upwards of 2 weeks until they saw growth, though i believe the 'mark' to abandon a cake is right around there as well (could be wrong).
Guess thats about all i got on it, hope i helped ya some.
