That's how it seems to me too. I'd feel a lot better if it were the baton poker that got the brunt of this.

Please mention next time you tell someone about this great vid that the cop that actually beat that dude up was also the first one that fled and didn't recieve even one punch. While the Other cop that told him to stop hitting the suspect was actually the one that took the most if not all punches. GREAT JUSTICE HUH

yah it would have been better had the beater got beat, however that dude is a cop and he witnessed someone beating someone surrounded by cops on the ground, if he was truely doing his job, the people in the stands wouldn't have had to do it for him. Plus you know how they like to play that good cop bad cop routine so who knows

violence seems to be the correct response here. The soccer player was probably confused why The man on the ground was getting these "pokes" with the baton. And a person confused has limited responses and the most sensible seems to be violence in many cases. All i can say is good for them, wish it was like that here. But like said before the police would draw weapons, that just means we also need weapons, so gather your friends and family and take a trip to ur local arms dealer. Dont forget the hallow points for the unprotected, the high speed low velocity rounds are also a good choice vs kevlar.

Of course the guy who did all the baton poking was the first one to flee. I'm sure those actions usually go hand in hand.
But truthfully we don't know EVERYTHING that was going on in that field. The dude that was pinned could have been like "When I get off this ground! I swear I'm gonna rip your heads off and piss down your throats!" OR or he coulda' been like trying to bite their ankles...
I'm all for blind justice anyway. Whoever deserves it should get it, cop or not. Well other than the fact the one ran...but you know street justice and all, it's not so precise. Well, okay, no justice system is precise...so okay, I need more sleep. The end.

Pris you're so full of shit man. The kind of shit you give cops a pass for is the same that you'd shoot a person right in the face for.
Please, like you'd let someone exert force on you.
Also, the guy on the left with the shaven head, the one who tries to stop the poker from poking is clearly seen as the first one to separate himself from the mass of people and he appears to have made it off screen without any injury, even evading a shove by some guy in red.
The other guy with the bald head, the guy at the top is the one who was clobbered and fell down and then got stomped.

would I let you tackle me to the ground and start hitting me, no. would I let the cops tackle me to the ground and start hitting me? no. what I'd do in the instance of the cops is offer no resistance, I have always complied with the orders given by the cops, I've never gotten beaten by them, maybe the two things are connected, maybe they arent what I do know is that fucker with the badge can slap any additional charge on my ass that he wants so my misdemeanor jay walking ticket can quickly become a felony obstruction charge for simply trying to pull away from a cop or refusing to comply with their orders
the difference between them and you is the title 'duly sworn peace officer'

I'm not sure that cops here would draw weapons. I mean in Portland they have been notorious for killing individuals when the necessity of such force is questionable. But there are plenty of crazies here too. Anyway, my point is, 1 vs 1 yes a cop would kill, 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, sure. But I just can't seem to imagine 4 or 5 cops pulling their guns and starting to shoot down a mob of at least 20 people. Maybe I just can't imagine it because its a situation I've never heard of happening.

Man this video feels soo good after watching the other brutality videos. Ohhh man I need a slow motion version with the area of main ass kicking highlighted. Gawd I love that the first one to put boots to the OH sooo deserving cops is a player. Anyone who plays sports like this knows the super fans are the ones who take to the field, non naked that is.

There should be no designation for assault on an officer. Its just another assault. Thats like calling something a hatecrime.

Increased punishments for "assault on an officer" is essentially a bit of negative reinforcement to make us believe that cops are more important than everyday folks and that we should respect authority more than we respect our equals.

You give cops way to much credit. Are there good cops? Yes, I've been pulled over on multiple occasions by state patrol that have showed me nothing but respect. But just about every other cop I've had a run in with has no problem bending the law to fit just about any situation he sees fit. Ive had a cop search my car even though I didnt give consent. When I asked why he was searching he pointed to a mcdonalds bag and asked "whats in there?" I said "fries" he said "probable cause".
Cops of the last 15 or so years have been militarizing. They increasingly have a more "us vs them" kind of attitude. I know we need some laws but it seems like they are trying to turn everyone into a criminal. They are not your daddys cops.
A government should be afraid of its people.
