Growing Cubensis outside

So I want to start a grow outside , I have a spore print from a cube that I picked about 3 weeks ago ready to use. I was wondering what exactly do I have to do to get the cake ready to plant. I know the cake is compromised of brown rice flour, vermiculite, and water and in a 1/2 pint jar. I just inject the spores in then wait for it to produce mycelium then put it outside? Sorry pretty new and the guides I've found aren't ver specific. Thanks for the help

pf cakes outside? spose it cld work....
http://www.shroomery.org/8409/PF-Tek do this, accept substitute the fruiting chamber for your yard.... if it were me (but its not) i would dig a patch of yard up about 3 - 4 inches deep, set the cakes in there (evenly spaced apart), and fill in the rest of the patch with horsepoop, then cover the whole thing in an inch or so of vermiculite...
idk tho, someone pro will come along with better advice im sure

try searching for terms like "outdoor bed" or just "outdoor"
PF tek (brf cakes) is designed for highly controlled conditions of indoor grows.

Shread the cake & mix it with Hpoo & peat and see what mother nature provides for you.

I would spawn the cakes by cheese grating to some pasteurized horse shit indoors and let it fully colonize and then when its warm enough outside just pasteurize some more horse shit for a bed outdoors in the shade somewhere where rain gets to sufficiently and case with verm and keep wet if it gets too dry out.
I might try this but i would do it with rye berries and not cakes. You being in north florida you could probably just spawn the cakes straight to a horse poo bed outside and it'd probly colonize since its natural for cubes there.
But if i were you i would make a huge horse poo colonized block indoors first and then break chunks of it up into your outdoor bed and make sure it never drys out fully and when it rains they'll grow. Or you'll have to sprinkle it.

Wow, people really seem to spread around flawed advice around here.
Brf cakes are ideal spawn for an outdoor bed. If you use rye grain as suggested above, you will probably have critters digging up the grain. Anyone who says brf cakes shouldn't be used for outdoor beds doesn't know what they are talking about. Also, pastuerization isn't necessary for outdoor growing, mother nature takes care of contamination. My outdoor bed is fruiting already in north ga, you are definitely fine to start now considering you are in Florida.
If you follow the pf tek to the letter you should have no problems

What i meant was i would rather spawn rye berries to Hpoo indoors first to get a good headstart of a bulk amount of mycelium for a huge bed. Since he's in Flor nvm i guess he can just spawn cakes outside. But i read that critters will even go for the BRF too.
And pasteurization is necessary or you will have other species of mushrooms/fungus growin in your bed along with the cubes. Or so i read.
Me being in oregon, i cant just spawn BRF sraight to a Hpoo bed because its too cold still and by the time its warm, just BRF cakes wouldnt be big enough for me so i would want to get Hpoo spawn first and as soon as its warm enough out i can just spawn my colonized Hpoo to more pasteurized Hpoo and it would work better/faster/bigger. Thats what i was suggesting.
But i would have to water my bed to get it to fruit because of the hot dry and long sunny summers we got here.....to the OP,..ya spawning cakes directly to a Hpoo bed will work. Im just trying to think of better ways for my situation here in oregon.

the prob. is that your print is a wild outdoor one. Shoot that in a pf cake or sterilized grain and all you will get is infection. I'd go with 50/50 horseshit and straw and spray the spores on it with a water bottle and bury

Or he can get some agar and try to germinate the spores in a petri dish and then isolate the mycelium into another petri dish in a glovebox to get a clean and sterile culture going. Thats how people grow from wild sporeprints. They must be germinated and isolated on agar first.

But how many critters would eat grains compared to pf tek cakes? I've seen many pics on here of beds completely dug out for the grains. I remember one person tho doing a grain slurry on a single qt jar and mixing it into a pretty big sized bed. It made me wanna try it that's for sure

I am in Florida as well, and have never had my hand at growing mushrooms intentionally. I know this is an old thread, but considering I could seasonally do an outdoor bed just by building the substrate, and innoculating by spray bottle, then covering I would definitely give it a try. I have had, on several occasions huge colonization and fruiting upon my storage area of compost and manure for outdoor gardening. I have a 600ish acre cattle farm directly behind my property, but will not and do not ever advocate trespassing. I would just like to have enough dried caps on hand to occasionally do a low dose for my head on the weekends

Aged horse manure and coir bed. Use once or twice flushed brf cakes spawned to the poo-coir outdoor bed by burrying or breaking them up, I imagine eventually you'd have cubes growing if you put enough spent cakes in it
