Quick gas exchange question, reguarding jars..

So, I have 32 jars sitting here, knocked up for a week now, and like 5 of them have very, very (dime sized) small spots of mycel. This is frsterating and very slow, and I'm assuming, from reading old threads because I don't have extra holes drilled other than the polyfil hole for GE. Is their anything I can do at this point to speed it up..I am hesitant to loosen lids or to open the lid to let some in because of contams, and i can't find a sturdy answer in past threads. should i just be patient and learn from this mistake?
thanks for anything.

Don't do anything.
I mean, you could go ahead and tells us what kind of jars if you want. Maybe even post a pic, just for giggles.
But don't touch them.

Quart jars with grains I'm assuming? You're not painting much of a picture here.
Also, shaking doesn't hurt, just don't do it too often. If starting with spores or LC, they get a good shake at inoculation, then one at 20%, then the last at 80% or so. Usually recover really fast that last time.

its only been 5 days so your not going to see much progress. Im shure you shouldnt be shaking them this early, more like when there 20% (someone correct me if im remembering wrong)
shaking wont harm it, it spreads the mycelium around which speeds up colinisation.
things are slow now, but in a weeks time will be a different story

Since you started with spores, just wait it out. Most likely the spore solution puddled on the bottom and that's where the growth will be, even if you shook it. When you see a nice halo of myc on the bottom, shake away.
