Help Identify small range of mushrooms
    #14329650 - 04/21/11 07:52 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Went mushroom hunting around my property today, this is what i found. have i got anything worth looking for here? and can anyone identify what species these all are?
I live in new zealand. my property is in the bush on a hillside that gets very little sun in autumn/winter time, there are 2 months left in autumn. most of the soil on my property is almost like clay very absorbent stuff everything grows like crazy up there.
will have to go home and inspect these growths again to provide more details on stems and gills, so will put some more details in tomorrow.

10 to 15 are Amanita muscaria or a local variation.

Not sure on 17 and 18. Maybe a Leucocoprinus species?

wow thats great!  thank you, ive got a couple more i will upload shortly. the underside of 19 and 20 was slightly wrinkled but felt firm and rubbery. i have a picture where the underside is visible but it is kind of unfocused. will upload that picture in a moment too.

I recommend numbering your pictures thus far as they've been described in this thread already, and also numbering the new ones you upload, as to not cause confusion.

I agree with elprawns post above. Also have a look at the sample id request and try to include the information it asks. You will get better id's this way as simply posting a picture of a mushroom taken from above doesn't suffice.

Check out this link>>Here

#8-9 are Scleroderma cepa

#10-15 are Amanita muscaria

#17-18 are a Macrolepiota sp.

I hadn't considered Macrolepiota due to the smooth stipe. Thanks, Karode.
