This is tom pretty recently. Its from his CD Real Gone, released in 2003 I believe. Long after swordfishtrombone.

I find cake to be a pretty dull band from what I've heard so far, and this song is no exception 1/10

6/10 Easy and enjoyable to listen to but I can’t see it being any thing but backround or dance music for me.

I find cake to be one of the most interesting pop acts i've heard in a while. And this song is my favorite, i like the lyrics. And i know everyone has different opinions but 1/10, really?,
As for your song it reminds me at times of sludge bands i love and some other alt-modern metal. But i don't particularly like the song especially because the drumming is boring and the singer is kinda annoying.
Now this is more my thing, 8-mins of awesome/10Oh for fuck sake, It was ok, listenable didn't grab me, 5/10.
Just noticed that guy is using a soviet synth in the teddy bears video.

That was pretty cool, country isn't normally my thing though. don't have rating because have no point of reference/10, but just from pure enjoyment 7/10.
was listening to ipod on shuffle the other day and this turned on. Make sure you listen till further in or skip a bit forward if you don't like it.Its pur'ty cool.

I like the way that slowly builds up. i t goes from real sparse and calm and escalates in intensity. I've heard a little of them before and been meaning to check out more but always put it off. I've been really digging the other tracks from this album though.

Example? I actually think it one of my favorites now. Would love to hear it live.Ain't nothing can beat the great deceiver though.Or 20FCSM. Don't think i can properly rate the song a above, seeing as i don't listen to mastodon or anything similar.

10/10 Crack the sky is imo the most intense mastodon album. Oblivion happens to be my faves on there after the baron. Scott kelly just takes every thing he touches up another level. The lyrics are really cool to. "I tried to burrow a hole into the ground, breaking all the fingers and nails from my hand" is a particularly haunting lyric do to the story behind it.
After Brans sister died (about two week) He ended up at her grave high on acid trying to claw into it to be near her. It also happens to have one of my top two favorite Brent solos.

Anything less than 13 minutes is a short tune. I like music that has time to breathe and embed itself.

The begining was great.Really liked what the drums were doing, went on a little long, it was mixed a little weird also, too much compression.Kinda experimental, i haven't listen to much metal in a while apart old songs from stuff like sleep, and electric wizard.I'll check these guys out. intense/10

If your gonna check out neurosis, all of their albums from enemy of the sun on are (for me) really intense. As they aged into that album (the song I posted) and eye of the storm, Given to he rising, the music takes on a much much more tranquil sort of sound where they focused much more on what was not in the music in stead of really busy stuff like through silver and blood. They are quite diverse album wise yet individual works hold together as a single piece of music. Their sons aren't really meant to be taken out of context imo. I feel they have a lot of integrity and their works are really speak to the human condition that embrace all aspects of it. Beautiful and paralyzing works.
