I think it has to do with the War on Drugs and the American Judicial system. So much hate for it, for obvious reasons. But say you get busted you are now a felon. Being a felon has to be the worst thing ever and a life shattering deal or else it would be harder to demonize the system.
That's my take on it.

I completely agree with both of you. Ive been caught up, but only on a misdemeanor. That shit sucks way bad. I imagine a felony would be A LOT of work. But that's it. It seems like it would only be as bad as you wanted it to be. I got hella felony friends and it's not to bad for them. Still in the same shoes as before, they just gotta tie them tighter now.
The only people that would consider their lives ruined after getting a felony are people who were un happy to begin with.
It's almost an insult to me that ANYONE would claim that a felony would ruin your life. So you are tellin me that as strong, good and whole hearted, willing and effective human being as I am.. that if I get a mark on a piece of paper that warns employers that I have broken the law..... my life is ruined ?
Psh. Ha. Think again. It's would take A LOT more weights than a fucking so called "record" to ruin my life.
IMHO if you think that a felony ruins you because it effects your career, school and owning a house. Then your life must revolve around those FEW things. Get a life, get some friends and start getting out and enjoying things.
FUCKING WEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!

When it comes time for you to get a job, "having friends, getting out, and enjoying things" isn't going to put food on your table. When your parents stop paying for things and you start needing more than a few hundred dollars a month... you're gonna be pissed you shot yoiurself in the foot with a felony arrest trying to make a few dollars selling drugs in your youth.

lol thank you. but i for sure did not snitch. they told me either 2 years of probation or 4 months in prison.
Why on earth would you do this?
And I hope if this is all true that you find some other way to make money that doesn't involve getting sent back to jail for even longer. You talk about how 8 hours of work a day is a loss of freedom but 24 hours of lost freedom a day in prison isn't worth avoiding a day's work.

In California growers usually get 3 years supervised probation and no jail time.
