Psilocybe sp, Section Semilanceatae

Here are a couple of images of one of the undescribed potted Psilocybe species from New Zealand, it belongs in Section Semilanceatae.
.

The smaller one here resembles P. mexicana and the larger one nicely demonstrates the hygrophanous reaction in dryer specimens.

Thanks cleangreen, your'e right, the pileus here has expanded a bit more than what is typical for P. mexicana and can often become plane and uplifted with an undulated margin:cool:

Is this species likely to do well in Britain? Are there any clues as to what its natural habitat may be?

Thanks,

Prawn.

Thanks inski! I'm going out after-bit and this will help me keep my eyes open. If I saw that, I'd have probably said,"looks like conocybe tenera" and walked right past it. I always miss those tiny jewels

Very interesting find.

Any signs of mycorrhizal activity in the plant pot?

Species in the section Semilanceatae can be (optional) mycorrhizal,
like Psilocybe semilanceata:
