Jesus Christ that is gorgeous. What a beautiful mushroom.

sure as hell is, smuff!
Little bunch found a couple minutes' walk from my house. Loads of myceliae around and some cute little pins popping up through the mulch. After yesterday's dismal failure (though, scored a big bag of cloud fungus/jew's ear, yum!) it's heartening to see that blue tinge spread over these little morsels!

As a bonus the surf directly in front of my house was doing this today:
...so needless to say, I didn't go to work. There were only three of us out most of the morning.
Lucky for you... I will be up that way for easter. cant wait.
I went for a hunt and had some success this evening. found a batch of P. weroroa. I would say just enough for one, will post some pictures up when i get my camera cord this eve.
Couple of quick questions as i am a noob to this.
Whats the best way to store them? ive heard straight up freeze is ok? without drying first? they wont be consumed for at least a few weeks...
Also a couple of them were sitting on top of the ground not attached like someone had picked them up and dropped them? these ones look a bit dirty and nasty are they ok to munch on?
Hmmm struggling with the photos for some reason...

Found these today. Auckland, North Shore:

A few are smaller than I would normally pick but it's a fairly public patch and usually gets abused so I took em. I left around 30-50 pins/small/med shrooms. They were so pristine, so nicely golden and the stems were perfectly white. Def first/second flush.

Looks like quite a few people with potted patches this year.
I have pics to come too.
I'm not really looking forward to scouring the neighbourhood verges again, but it's just been so much more rewarding than searching the bush! Does anyone have good finds in bush or forest? It would be so much nicer to walk and search in.

First of my finds in Dunedin, after three days of mean rain and a chilly morning. Found in short grass surrounding a woodchip garden.

Yup - central city. Pretty new to this mushroom hunting business, it's quite fun.

Ahh, me too. Haha.
Yeah it's awesome. Hopefully this shitty weather over Easter weekend produces something.
