Oklahoma Senate OKs life in prison for cooking hash in Okla
    #14326023 - 04/21/11 01:26 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

http://www.newsok.com/article/3560477 ; Man, I gotta get out of this state.

Converting marijuana to hashish could land Oklahomans a life prison sentence under a bill approved in the Oklahoma Senate.

The Senate voted 44-2 for the bill on Wednesday, which now heads to the House for final consideration.

The bill was requested by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, which says the state has seen few cases of hash manufacturing in Oklahoma.

OBNDD spokesman Mark Woodward says the goal of the bill is to “send a message” that illegal drugs won't be tolerated in Oklahoma.

Conviction of a first offense of cooking hashish would result in a prison sentence from two years to life in prison. Sentences would be doubled under a second offense, and those convicted would not be eligible for a suspended sentence or probation.

and how does this justify such draconian laws?. Have to say bad luck to Oklahomans, you have chosen some stupid shit stains to represent you.

it's obvious these senators still live in the dark ages

my heart goes out to oklahomans who have the misfortune to live in a state led by these senseless dicks.

busting meth labs is their main pass time and obviously 20 years in prison isn't deterring them.

This is oddly reminiscent of the difference between crack sentences and coke sentences It's crazy how these people go into mob mentality and lose all reason.

I strongly suspect the only people who knew what was being suggested were the 2 in the 44-2 vote.

You would think hash would be on the lowest priorities.

Why don't they focus on the methamphetamines and keep it that way?

Making hash is like a religion to me.

Fuck Im glad I don't live there. Driving through it always looks like a third world shithole overrun with cops and meth fiends. You would think they had bigger problems to deal with other than a little hash. There are probably 3 people total in the state that make hash and now once all of them see this they'll probably move. good ole Yokelhoma.

Naw.... And I love how you southerners always call good green "dro" lol.

I wonder what the punishment is for growing mushies here.

Which is why I do nether.

I like the natives though. Like my second family, all the white people here blow big balls.

I think one cool thing about oklahoma is I can own a handgun and not have it registered to me, I can carry it in my car unloaded, and shoot it where I'm at all day or night and wont get fucked with. And it's fully legal for me to have it loaded next to my bed. And ANYONE can walk into a gun store and buy a handgun same day, no questions asked. That is pretty cool to me, well sort of. In california this would never happen, and I fully agree with the reasonings why. If I murder someone with my handgun it's untraceable to me, because it's not registered to me. But if someone wanted to do the same, they could. I shit bricks when I found this out.

Gotta focus on the positives or I would loose what little mind I have left.

And I met the love of my life here, so I can't complain that much

But the more I think about it:

Oklahoma knows whats best for the people. Dangerous drugs like this kill and leave your brain permanently and irreversibly damaged. You will never be able to function normally again with jut one hit. Hash will ruin your life the first time you do it. Oh wait, no it doesn't, going to jail for a felony will though. first offense 20 years, second offense 40 years. you probably wont be alive to even get a third offense after 60 years. FOR THE PEOPLE!

Such unimaginable bullshit. Regardless if you do drugs or not, smoke pot or not, you cant begin to say this is justified. This is basically saying you'd better kidnap and rape a child before you "cook" hash. Because you'd get less punishment for that. At least if you murder your neighbor, or drive drunk a kill some innocent person, you'd have less time in jail, and be eligible for parole.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Making laws like this should be a crime.  Those senators who voted in favor of this are people who commit, promote and dedicate their lives to violence.  These people should be in prison, and I mean that sincerely.

America is so worried about big bad crack addicts and dopeheads who will hypothetically break into their homes yet they ignore the real crimes that are committed every day such as declaring inherently non-criminal behavior to be "illegal crimes" that they will order people to hurt you for.

The karma wrapped up in this is going to hurt, a lot.  I'm so glad I don't have that resting on my shoulders.

Stuff like that breeds crime.

You can clean yourself from a drug, but you can never clean a felony off your record.  Once it's there, it stays; you can never get a good job, you can't vote, you're stuck in your shitty place in a shitty neighborhood and the only decent source of income is selling drugs.

Colorado will legalize it in 2012 but one state over it will get you life in prison. How the hell could anybody be this stupid? I am curious how much money they wasted on this new law?
