As someone who works in the addiction field i see a lot of cases of production. You are a marked man and forever will be known as a manufacturer. If you decide to grow i would call prison and make sure they have another comfy cell for you. And just to let you know if you go back, you will not be getting 4 months. Try 4 years. a judge seeing a second time offender (production especially) will take the book, put it into a gun, and shoot it at you. Not just throw it.
How did you get caught if you dont mind me asking.

^^^HAHA fuck yeah.
Well i got caught b/c my roomate didnt have a key to get into the apartment, which would normally be no big deal, but hes black too so someone thought he was breaking in and called 911. After they came to check out the supposed "b and e" and found out he lived there, they happened to notice a bowl on the table. which supposedly is "probable cause" and gives them the right to come back witha search warrent somehow and they found everything.. and then waited 5 hours for me to get home.

damn...sounds like some bad luck. If ur goin in hard i would be careful. Tell NO ONE about ur operation. And i guess hide ur paraphernalia lol.
me, i sell wayt. To only 4 people. whom ive known since i was a kid. we each go to separate colleges. I got a kid at mine who does the small stuff. I spot him the goods and he drops off the cash. No money or drugs in the same place. And no talks on cell phones. everything is talked about in person. Scanners now a days, even ur nosy neighbors could be listening. Dont buy expensive things. I spend money on things like vacations, groceries, and other stuff that is not a physical object. If you go nuts and buy a benz ull be in jail the next month. Uncle sam doesnt like when his nephews cut him out of his money. But what it comes down to is if you throw the dice you may not be able to handle the roll. Goodluck

ever heard of construction?
maybe you have family who owns a business?
There are options for felons, dude. Just because they don't meet your definition of success doesn't mean that their lives are fucking ruined. You're a prick. They took a risk, to make money, and they got caught, but there are definitely options available.
I agree that being a felon makes life much more difficult, but by no means is it impossible to be successful because of your criminal record.
OP: I wouldn't grow...why take the risk? Maybe if you weren't a felon

It does not mean your life is over at all. Companies get tax credits for hiring felons which in these hard times they are doing more and more often. Additionally you are able to explain your reasons to the employer. I dont know what state you are in, but in mine you can even attempt to have your record sealed after 2 incident free years. its an ignorant assumption to say if you have been in jail your life is over. It doesn’t mean a dead end, just an obstacle. However in most cases if it comes down between you and another person with identical credentials that has not done time, he’s most likely going to get the job.

well of course all that stuff is going to be harder now. companys arent usually too thrilled about hiring felons. there is that tax credit but who the fuck cares. i guess its cool...but its kind of an endless circle/self fulfilling prophecy. i got a felony now so it will be hard to find work so what do they expect me to do for money. BUT life is not over. sure i wont be super successful like you are but im willing to bet i enjoy life more than most

Yrtlzmo said: Enlighten me then, have you found getting a job, apartment or loan to be easier or more difficult now? Or what about going to a university? Are you denying the ridiculous number of options now closed or made much more difficult because you have a felony? Or do you just consider not being able to do those things as not ruining your life? I know if I knew I was going to be denied jobs and places to live because of my record I would consider my life to be complete shit, but that's because I want to get a degree and become a teacher, if I couldn't reach my goal I would consider it ruined.
I'm sure you can find a way to live without doing these things but who wants to make things more difficult? Seems your options are minimum wage jobs (if you're lucky) and living with someone else who was able to sign a lease, other than that you can sell drugs, seriously I am interested what are the other options because I'm under the impression it makes life pretty fucking hard...
I kind of have the impression you guys are just trying to downplay how seriously you fucked up for your own sanity though. Felony doesn't mean failure to me, but it does to the people who are in charge of you getting beyond working at mcdonalds, which honestly might even be impossible in this job market with a felony. I just wouldn't be okay doing manual labor/food industry work the rest of my life and struggling to get by.
You're a sad fucking dude, my friend....The 2 houses I rented prior to me buying one had no issue.
I never was going to go to college, but as long as the crime wasn't committed WHILE RECEIVING federal aid, you can still get loans and everything.
Ive had 3 jobs since my conviction, 1 when I moved with my g/f for her to go to college, had the job locked in before I even moved. It wasn't the best (phone work), but it did the job for the 10 months. Then when we moved back I got a job at a tube factory and a carpentry shop, I am now plant manager of the shop (here right now actually, working, lol) and shit is fine.
The only downside Ive noticed was the probation, which I sailed through and not -legally- being able to own a firearm.
You sound EXACTLY like the sort of narrow minded squeeler that would roll over on anybody the moment you're sitting in the police chair...LOL...rock on buddy!

After going to jail again I'm much too scared to procure illegal substances, even though during my 7 years of drug abuse I've never had a substance related arrest I feel my luck has run out and next time could land me with a felony... so fuck that, plus I've been over heroin for a loooong time, no longer worth the risk to me, I'm happy to have finally gotten there mentally.
It's funny 'cause when I was a junkie I'd buy right on the street all the time and shoot up while driving and not think twice, I even copped while I could see cops two blocks down busting someone on the same corner thinking "well they got their hands tied with that so I'm sure it's fine"
Now, get the fuck off of your high horse, Napoleon.
