This has popped up in my yard in multiple places and I haven't a clue what it is. It looks a bit generic looking, but perhaps someone knows it.

The fat trunk in the background of the first picture belongs to a cherry tree.

Thanks and any specific reason to? Wikipedia claims its beneficial for nearby plants and that its sap could be used to treat poison ivy (Perhaps poison oak too).

Looks like a Privet of sorts, most likely a Japanese Privet. Can grow into a large bush to even a sizable tree.

Doesn't look like any milkweed I've ever seen, most of them around here have fuzzy leaves.

^This.
It's a Ligustrum sp. With more information you could key it out to species. Here's a key for the genus, It's a PDF: http://www.texasinvasives.org/invaders/Trainer_Resources/Ligustrum.pdf

Agree with Ligustrum sp.
One of the most invasive species in Texas. If there is a genus that I wish I could unleash a biological genocide on, it would be Ligustrum. It flowers multiple times a year; the berries are poisonous to humans but not to birds; the birds love the berries, they germinate quickly; they can stand light freezes once established; they come right back up if you cut them down; and they're a widely popular landscaping plant due to their evergreen cover and quick growth. Unfortunately, all of the above means that they're taking over the forests. The only way to kill one is to dig up the rootball or cut them just after winter and heavily apply RoundUp heavily on the stump or burn it.
