I cant be the only one who knows the TRUE meaning behind 4/20 can I?
One thing I appreciate about it Hitler is that he single handedly made a style of mustache evil...that's pretty bad ass shit.

lol they banned plastic butter knives wow. I carried a knife on me every day at school then one day someone wrote a bomb threat on the bathroom wall, the principle came over the loud speaker and said "There has been a bomb threat made for tomorrow's school day, upon arrival at school YOUR BAG WILL BE SEARCHED."
Got there and police and k9's were there and teachers were going through bags, only day in 4 years I didnt bring a weapon into school lol
They eventually caught the idiot that wrote the bomb threat too, he did it to "get out of school because he heard a HS nearby it worked at" Which it did for them, but my school had cameras in the halls

Hitler was a genius.
He single handedly took absolute power of a country democraticly, He mobilized millions of people to do war instead of peace (thats more people than jesus back then)
He was also a great strategist, he managed to take an entire continent a 2 years.
Also, he created Volkswagen and the Autobahn.
I have asked my german teacher teacher the following question:
If Hitler didn't create WW2 how would you rate Hitler as Fuhrer.
She answered: He would of been one of the greatest politician Germany ever had.

yeah but if Hitler didn't get the German ppl to rally around a war none of the positive things he accomplished for Germany would have been done and he would have been just another shitty German ruler.

I found a really interesting documentary about the occult/mythological influences behind the Nazi ideology. I had no idea they were so "far out".

Not just that, the moustache that was the trademark of Charlie Chaplin.
that, AND he invented the rap battle:
To all those admiring Hitler I'd like to give the mental image of him having made all those golden promises to Germany, then leaving it completely in ruin, and in the time "germany needed him more than ever" biting a cyanide capsule and pulling the trigger to blow his brains out so Germany could deal with the mess he made without him.
If you guys want to do some hero worship, at least find yourself some proper hero to worship. This may help:

Did he like the Germans, really, or did he just use em for his own purposes?
He loved his neice, loved her so much he took her in his home. Never mind she killed herself shortly after, its the thought that counts.
I dont even think he liked himself.

you must admit that what he was able to accomplish is incredible.
I mean he was one of the worst people to ever live, but come on...he did some ambitious and risky shit. He tried to conquer the world and he almost succeeded. That is impressive.

I don't mean in terms of land mass, but with the amount of people he had on his side, had the united states failed to end the war, he likely could have taken over the world. He tried too much too fast.
Also, I don't mean he literally would have had occupation in every part of the world, but he would have had the greatest superpower on the planet.

That wouldve never happened. He might haver taken Great Britain but there was no way at all the non-European allies were going to fail. There just was no way. Nevermind that the US if the war had lasted a bit longer could have wiped out one major German city a month with atomic bombs. Think Germany wouldve still have backed him then?
Quote:
he likely could have taken over the world.
Lets say he took the UK. What about oh, lets say the US, Russia, Australia, Canada? There was NO WAY he could win it. No way. He couldnt even hold the small part of Europe he occupied. It was madness, madness he could get his people to get along with for a while.
Quote:
he would have had the greatest superpower on the planet.
"Not totally" is "totally not". This is a pipe dream, it was not possible and a lost cause.
And what was lost? over 60 million lives.
Can you comment on how you perceive the Aryan heroics of this picture?

Theres nothing to admire. He ran a huge pyramid scheme, completely unsustainable, UNWINNABLE, which left 60 million people dead and his country in utter ruin. Its a scam, and a very lethal one at that. There was NO WAY to win it.
And even if the status quo was kept at some point.. Most people in the occupied nations hated Hitlers guts and became increasingly rebellious. Even the gains made were unsustainable.
It was madness.

Nah, would it fuck. You'd have to have about 1 commissar/taskmaster per 10 soldiers to keep them in line. Not to mention the training they'd need.
Much better to have them creating artillery shells and infrastructure for no pay and then putting them in ovens.

There were about 40 attempts on Hitlers life, and most of them by his own troops. Most epic of all I think was the attempt immortalized in the movie Valkyrie. That really shouldve succeeded out of sheer awesomeness alone, and it almost did.
The first classic suicide bomber in history would have been one of Hitlers own officers who slipped a pack of British plastique and a short timer in his pocket and stayed really close to the führer. Unfortunately he had to abort, cause Hitler felt a need to sneak out.
My favorite attempt on Hitlers life was a disgruntled German in 1939 who entirely on his own packed a column three feet behind Hitler with something like 100 lbs of explosives. Unfortunately Hitler moved his speech one hour earlier after the timer was set, and he didnt go on a 3 hour tirade. If he had.. well it was before even Poland was invaded, imagine the effects on history. It didnt get him but did wipe out a whole bunch of Nazis and the building they held their meeting in.
EDIT: in case someone wonders, I don't particularly like hitler or the things he did.

a "Hitler appreciation thread", hey? guess we've got enough generational distance and emotional dysfunction to "appreciate" a total despot.
America has to be one of the only countries in the world that breeds children who are so disconnected from the reality of the rest of the world that they discuss what they "appreciate" about someone like Hitler less than 70 years after his regime fell.
Seriously, we are a nation of tards.
In my travels i've met young Germans and the one thing you most certainly do not bring up with them is anything to do with the Nazis or Hitler. Keep that advice in your back pocket kiddies, you might need it if you ever leave this fantasy land we call "america".

Jesus wtf... hitler appreciation thread... The guy was a monster, who cares if he made big roads and was a political genius - the guy was a DICK HEAD.

I have to say I'm pretty amazed someone would think all these great things about hitler, putting him in a pedestal, as if he had done anything worth praising.
Hitler was one of the biggest hypocrites known in all history, he himself descended of Jews, he himself wasn't a pure "Arian" (according to their concept or arian which isn't even the real one), he himself wasn't even German, (not to mention using the word socialism as if nazis were and using a symbol used in hindu, buddist and jainist philosophies, not good people to live, but good people to get symbols of ).
Hitler was mediocre during his youth, and a very repressed man, who grew probably with great anger inside. He was in fact a very insecure person (he trained his speeches for hours in front of the mirror) and probably having only one testicle didn't help to all that frustration.
He took a very unstable and needy German, told the people whatever they wanted to hear (in a very effusive and convincing manner) and once he got what he wanted nothing was "democrat" afterwards, and thinking so just shows lack of information and ignorance.
If you want to talk about great strategists you should probably read about someone as Alexander the Great for example, instead of bragging about someone who's thirst for power lead him to neglect facts as a winter so harsh he wasn't even ready for that.
And know I'm just wondering how many of you "hitler admirers" if in fact have lived in Germany under hitler's government wouldn't have ended in a camp?? Because his problem weren't only the jews you know? How many of you are really "nazi arian", how many don't have libertarian views, how many of you would gladly endure dictatorship, torture and massive genocide?

If we can choose alternate endings..
There was a plot which was never carried out to, when Hitler and his high command were in the Führerbunker, toss concentration camp grade Zyklon B in the ventilation shaft.
I understand why God chose THIS ending but that one could have been quite fitting too. We leave it to the big guy, he probably knows best.

If you honestly didnt know about Zyklon B you really should take an afternoon wiki-ing away on what happened back then.
As said before "Those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it". I don't think you particularly have plans in that direction, but I consider it essential reading in shaping yourv worldview to study up on the holocaust.
This makes a good starting point: Operation Reinhard

Did you know some death camnps didnt even use proper poison gas, they used engine exhaust fumes to gas well over a million people?
Majdanek
Or that they sometimes stretched the gas supply by using a fraction of the gas amount and letting the dying linger for longer? Gas chambers were generally so packed with people that they'd have to toss the babies in overhead, and people often were dead and dying before the gas came.. If they didnt leave em in there overnight, that is.
Jews that had been in the camps for long didnt burn very well because they were skin and bone. So they waited for new arrivals in some camps, to mix them in with the starved ones, so it would burn better on the pyre. In other camps, they experimented by injecting inmates with gasoline, cause they'd have to douse them in gasoline to get them to burn later, anyway.
"Nazis" really were a lot worse than most people realize. Just like American Lynchings generally were a lot worse and involved a lot more than a rope and pulling it.

SS Lieutenant Kurt Gerstein said:
Unterscharführer Hackenholt was making great efforts to get the engine running. But it doesn't go. Captain Wirth comes up. I can see he is afraid because I am present at a disaster. Yes, I see it all and I wait. My stopwatch showed it all, 50 minutes, 70 minutes, and the diesel did not start. The people wait inside the gas chambers. In vain. They can be heard weeping, "like in the synagogue," says Professor Pfannenstiel, his eyes glued to a window in the wooden door. Furious, Captain Wirth lashes the Ukrainian assisting Hackenholt twelve, thirteen times, in the face. After 2 hours and 49 minutes—the stopwatch recorded it all—the diesel started. Up to that moment, the people shut up in those four crowded chambers were still alive, four times 750 persons in four times 45 cubic meters. Another 25 minutes elapsed. Many were already dead, that could be seen through the small window because an electric lamp inside lit up the chamber for a few moments. After 28 minutes, only a few were still alive. Finally, after 32 minutes, all were dead...Dentists hammered out gold teeth, bridges and crowns. In the midst of them stood Captain Wirth. He was in his element, and showing me a large can full of teeth, he said: "See for yourself the weight of that gold! It's only from yesterday and the day before. You can't imagine what we find every day—dollars, diamonds, gold. You'll see for yourself! "
Lest we forget man, this should NEVER happen again.
If not in a "hitler appreciation thread" then where?

I watched a documentary once about how nazi's would crack open the vent juuust a little bit to give people false hope, they'd climb on top of the dead to try and suck in fresh air slowly dying themselves.

Pretty awful.
We've had our lulz with this thread, why not be serious for a bit.
The thing with Hitler, he didnt have balls of steel, he was putting other people balls the whole time and when the time came to take responsibility he committed suicide.
Mustve been a precious moment for him, all his dreams destroyed, his new wife Eva Braun turned blue with cyanide next to him on the sofa, capsule of poison gas between his teeth, same poison as used in Auschwitz, and his trusty favorite pistol to his head.
*crunch* *bang!* Bye.
Won't miss ya, God will take it from here.

Well.. if you think about it, it could have been a lot worse. The raging antisemitism and war mentality that were running rife had to discharge somehow.
What if someone killed baby hitler? Why, maybe someone competent would have started a war, and can you imagine the Holocaust in the Computer age? One of the first computers in the world was used in.. Auschwitz. An American made IBM computer that worked with punchcards and processed the numbers tattoo'd onn the inmates arms.
Who would get the atomic bomb then?
What of eugenics and euthanasia?
Maybe WW2 in all its atrocity was really the best it could be, given what was there to begin with. Maybe all the alternate endings were a LOT worse.

I don't see where a god had any intervention anywhere since the dawn of time though. God may exist, I'm not saying that.

I consider God the totality of everything, so I dont see him intervening - other than completely running the show in every minute detail.
Few would call that God, but a God of Only Good And Happy Things seems like cherrypicking to me. It wouldnt be a particular powerful God given the forces at work here either.

wow this thread turned into a nice fight
seriously though, nobody thinks hitler was a good man. everyone acknowledges he was a total fucking piece of waste, but I'm not denying his effort. I think he played his role in the grand scheme of the world, and we're probably better today cause we have examples of people like hitler in the past.
