If they are filters for milk I would imagine that calcium or one of the milk molecules would be more than .5 microns so I would say the are no good. Go to myco supply! JMHO
Besides those are made to filter a large volume of liquid, you want a GE filter not a milk filter.

Whosaid anything about GE? anyway right .5 is no damn good. myco supply isnt really useful when your in the UK unless you can tell me the cost of shipping? Also its tough getting hold of filters in the UK. Thanks for the reply.

If you don't want GE, why are you using filters?

Just to clarify a bit on 3n1gm4's point. Calcium is a diatomic metal. In it's elemental form it would be several orders of magnitude smaller than 0.5 microns (most probably low angstrom range)--which is more than a million times smaller than 0.5um. Molecules in milk (whether macro or not) are still many times smaller than 0.5um and will easily pass through 0.5um. What one needs to be concerned with is the size of contaminates that could potentially pass through a filter of that porosity. Bacteria tend to be on the order of 1-4um and should have difficulty getting through 0.5um filters. Most mold spores range from 3-100um and should also have difficulty getting through a 0.5um filter. Having said all of this, a 0.2um filter is really the gold standard and if a supply of those can be secured they are preferable.
