questions about rye grain techniques..

Ok so i tried the pf tek cake growing procedure, and my jars have yet to fully colonize and im getting bored. so I want to try something different and maybe more complex. I see alot of people talking about this rye grain technique and they seem to have good semi fast results. I have read a few threads about it but cant seem to really find anything with great detail on the entire process so i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
Also is the rye grain technique the next technique i should try? If not what technique should i attempt to learn that will be worth while and that i can use to do bulk grows?
thanks in advance

i suggest skipping rye in favor of wild bird seed. You can get bird seed for 20 cents a pound. I can't find rye for under a dollar a pound.

IMO find out what works best for you and your fun-guy friend! Different grains have different minerals, nutrients, moisture, fiber etc. Once I become proficient preparing Rye Seed grains, I will begin to create different seed mixes to provide a more well rounded spawn.

questions: this tek talks about "stones" and putting those in substrates and a couple other teks i have read through don't mention stones as part as the process. Am i missing something here? or is it possible to simply add the jars to the substarte once fully colonized. Also i was curious about the fruiting chambers for bulk grows. What would work best for a closet setup with artifical light?
I would be attempting to use P.cubensis B+ and pick up another syringe from the local head shop here who stocks them. if that changes anything.

I would say to watch RR's videos on grain prep. I used his method of prepping Rye berries and it works perfectly, I got perfect moisture content of the berries. My first attempt with grains all failed with excess water.

From what I've read, stones are a slang term for....some word i can't recall right now. Screlota? Something like that. they're little hard balls that grow inside the jar on certain species of mushrooms. B+, from my experience, is not one of these species.
Bulk grows, again from what I have done, incorporate a tub of some kind-I prefer sterlite tubs-which act as both the consolidation chamber for the bulk substrate+ the fully colonized rye grain spawn, then they double as the fruiting chamber itself when the block is colonized.
Set your substrate level at 4 inches deep. It's up to you what spawn ratio to use, many people here use way less spawn per tub than I do.
Look up monotub and mini mono to get some ideas. Dubtub is another type of bulk substrate tub design im sure there's guides for it here.
Different people do things different ways. The important thing is to pick a tek and stick with it the whole way through the first time, or failure is almost certain.
I do endorse roger rabbit's grain prep video. Rinse them good you only get 1 shot at it, and make sure they're dry before loading the PC.
Are you planning to use coir for your bulk substrate? I recently measured out a brick of coir as I broke it up and it came out to about 12 cups. From now on I will be buying the loose coir to save time and effort!
Best of luck
